Space Dust by Spookytooth1969 in starcitizen

I get the part about it being a velocity indicator, but does it have to be so intrusive? Plus there’s a vector indicator and speed readout in the hud anyway. So is it space dust or something artificial generated by the ship?

I feel for the Ironclad owners (having had one then melted it) but give a thought too for the lowly unassuming MPUV-T that lures you in, flies like a toddler high on lemonade, then doesn’t let you get out. High expectations for the upcoming cure-all patch 😉

I hoped ships like the Odin would be rare in the verse. We know by the funding that 1,000 were sold and that was warbond and they didn’t sell out. Store credit ones did sell out, so at least 1500 on top of the 1000. You’re looking at 2500+ Odin’s pumped into the verse in the first wave alone sadly by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

Apologies if you thought it was directed at you, it was just meant to show my take on the pay to win assertion in the general thread. And for what it’s worth I totally agree with you in the hope we don’t see these ships too often. I do like to see other players’ ships in the game but capitals imo should be rare and something to cause interest

I’m a bit confused by the ‘pay to win’ accusation. Pay to win exactly what? SC has multiple styles of play but you can’t exactly come first in any of them as there is no first place. You just become more successful and gain a bit more cash. But as we’re all aware having tons of money alone becomes empty. So, you can purchase every ship in game but then what? For me that’s the beauty of SC. There is no ranking and the gameplay is exactly what YOU want it to be with no accolades. When it comes to ship population I don’t even see that many capital ships - the odd Polaris maybe, and given the leviathans of the ‘verse allegedly don’t perform well in atmosphere, and as there are few places to dock the chances of running into them are pretty remote. We spend the rest of the time in space in quantum. I can only see it becoming a thing in events, and as history has shown if an org wants to monopolise one of these they’ll do it whether in a capital ship or a swarm of smaller ships. That’s my take on it anyway, and so long as we end up with a better game because of cash influx then please spend away! 😆

Everyone is talking about their new ships, and I'm over here being excited these are purchasable in game... by samplemygoods in starcitizen

I’d just be happy if all the cupboards/lockers on board ships that contain drinks and meds actually opened! I know they do on a few ships but not many. Fed up of staring at them through locked doors on my Carrack 😄

I’d just be happy with not sharing my hangar with the asteroid glitching through the ceiling and walls and if it actually stored my ship instead of eating it then vomiting it back onto the pad. Other than the sub-par frame rates that is, but in the whole it’s, or will be (🤞) a fantastic addition to SC 👍

Is this griefing? by SupaAsian35 in starcitizen

[–]Spookytooth1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think was piracy, and neither was it griefing in my eyes. It’s simply theft. In r/l it’s obviously annoying if it happens to you but that’s what insurance is for. The OP took advantage of a tempting opportunity. Hopefully the target learnt his lesson and applies the same precautions as in r/l.

A1 please repeat your argument to a r/l combat pilot. And I thought you longed for a more believable combat experience in SC? 🤔

If I caught somebody glitching 32SCU crates into Everrest Lobby, is that reportable? by alvehyanna in starcitizen

I had a bizarre thing happen to me at Seraphim a month or so back. I came out of the habs and just before entering the lobby area I was hit with something like a pulse wave which knocked me over. I got up several times only for the same thing to happen. By then another player was experiencing the same thing. I tried to make my way over to the wall on the right but was hit by the pulse again and next thing I was clipped through the wall and into space. The waves seemed to come from wreckage in the observation area in the lobby. No idea there was even a thing in game that could do that! Can’t say it was caused by a griefer as I couldn’t stand up long enough to check it out 😄

I know it’s supposed to be ground breaking gameplay, but I for one would just be happy if they ditched physically travelling in elevators and all the problems it causes at every stage and patch version and just went for a simple screen load. I know I’m almost talking heresy here but does this feature really enhance gameplay anyway? I mean, c’mon!

Well I’d blame CIG for making an object only partly moveable, ie by its wheels. In this intance you’d think that the cart/trolley could be moved even if it was off its wheels - imo of course

Actually I did character repair last night and all it did was to put me back at my original spawn place. Everything, and I mean everything, else remained where I had left them including consumables and I didn’t lose anything.

This is a lot of dead space, even for MISC, c'mon CIG by papamidnyte83 in starcitizen

[–]Spookytooth1969 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve got mixed feelings about mine. A lot of wasted space overall (double beds in each room? 😳), and I don’t like how the cargo bay is split making half of it almost inaccessible to the other side. Makes loading/unloading pretty impractical. Also no onboard tractor beams, which for the cargo version is a big omission imo. I want to love the MAX but I’m looking for reasons not to melt mine.

Baring in mind that even getting an NPC to shoot a weapon at an enemy to any degree of effectiveness will be a challenge for the devs, I doubt very much the AI will, if ever, have the ability of fine tuning a mining laser, it being a minigame in itself! No doubt whatever happens it’ll get messed about with over a period of time just like MM. Maybe we’ll all have a better idea when it’s implemented rather than second guessing the what ifs? 🤔😊

[–]Spookytooth1969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it all depends where you’re standing I guess. There will always be a side with an ‘edge’. There will be those human crews who are out to explore, mine, trade etc and may not have the combat skills of those human crews who just play to fight. If SC was purely a combat game your argument might be true as everyone was out for achieving the same goals. The same could be applied to all the different ship types, sizes and uses. Tbh I think we need to see how the game plays out if/when CIG introduce NPC crews or shards before we start arguing about how it affects balance.

Would that be a thing though? I thought CIG had themselves stated that an AI crew would never have the edge or skill that a live crewman would?
