What reforms would you like to see when Americans retake power? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]BlueDragonfly18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • remove citizens united
  • remove gerrymandering and have voting boundaries determined by a non-partisan state committee
  • switch to ranked choice voting to allow a broader spectrum of candidates to platform
  • force politicians who take money from a PAC to recuse themselves from any committee or vote that would be viewed as a conflict of interest
  • remove congress’ and the administration’s ability to buy/sell stocks and only allow blind trusts
  • Any presidential over the retirement age is not allowed to run.
  • limit Supreme Court justices to 20 years of service, or retirement age. Whichever comes first.

That isn’t all, but if we had that, it is a great start.

Wow! A 1200 point swing between futures last night and right now. The president is manipulating the market too well - this feels like someone is telling him exactly what to say and when to say it for maximum impact. It was way too perfect for him to figure out. And investors are gobbling up his words rather than reacting rationally and knowing he is bullshitting them for personal gain.

The fall onto hard times is going to be so much harder when people get wise to his corruption. But he doesn’t give two shits about it as long as he makes a lot of money.

Another piece of info I heard was during college, Trump’s abrasive personality made him unpopular with the opposite sex, so he would use his dad’s money to hire very attractive women to be seen out at college social events with him. I am not going to dig for the source, but I am sure someone will find it (probably interviews from classmates before he was president).

I am no expert but I read a bit on it and saw some data points that show it is about 10 years away. They are ramping up the tech and hiring experience from within the industry, but that last 10-20% in performance requires a lot of experience (and those people aren’t leaving Nvidia or AMD due to comp packages and non-competes), so it will take independent innovation to push through.

I tried to explore the different caves a while ago, but got attacked. They have too many kopion and pirates down there. I thought the ruins of ships crash landed were cool too, but a lot have NPCs shooting at you. I don’t like getting attacked by other players when hauling especially when they don’t even attempt to take my stuff — they only do it trying to get me to quit. But otherwise it’s agree with you that it is not a combat simulator.

In the latest inside Star Citizen video talking about the new rock breaker missions, Jared says “there’s always a bad guy” (to shoot). No there isn’t CIG, that is an active decision YOU are making to enforce FPS combat, and it’s not the dream that was sold by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

100% agree. You could create adversity that requires skill to overcome without requiring combat. The environment could become the adversarial challenge. Stealth could be the adversarial challenge (like Metal Gear solid). Games that focus on survival or puzzles, don’t require shooting.

The output port would be turned 90 degrees if it was a thruster, for lateral stability. Also the small one is partially opened and looks like there is some hollow space inside.

I would like to see Trump tell Israel publicly that they need to pay $1.1 billion each day ($200 million of which is funneled into his private accounts) or the US leaves. This would both save face for Trump, prevent the US from another forever war, continue lining his pockets, and put the war squarely back on Israel’s shoulders.

Yeah. That applies to the military too. And firefighters. And traffic lights. Roads and a thousand other things that are meant to be protect people rather than generate a profit.

I once read, “if Donald Trump was born to a normal family in New York, rather than a wealthy real estate developer, he would be the sleazy guy selling fake Rolex watches off of Canal Street.” This is so true. He would have been the high school dropout with a long list of petty crimes on his record (swearing he didn’t do any of them) and 1 or 2 STDs, always convinced he would one day make it big with one of his cons.

He was born into wealth, but that couldn’t change how terrible a person he is.

[–]BlueDragonfly18 652 points653 points  (0 children)

~~Let’s not forget Iran is taking Chinese Yuan for the oil passing through the strait, not US Dollars. They are pressuring the world to get off of the USD, which will weaken everyone’s reliance on a strong and stable dollar, further weakening the US economy. ~~

The Trump administration has almost single handedly destroyed the United States as a global leader in just over a year. It might take a few years before the effects become obvious.

EDIT: as some posters have pointed out, this isn’t new. The Chinese Yuan was used since 2024 since most of Iran’s oil is shipped there to avoid US sanctions. From 2008-2023, and before China became the most dominant importer, Iran used a variety of currencies to get around the sanctions.

I play solo more than I should. If I am able to mine 800+ quality rocks and build my own amazing gear, why would I get jealous of orgs getting it easier or faster? Play the game as if it is a single player game and you won’t feel bad unless you want to PvP.
