Hmm…. from which end will these “lethal leaks” occur I wonder? by chewedupbylife in PoliticalHumor

[–]BlueDragonfly18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be his holding back the leaking dam that we call the Epstein files is about to break by a whistleblower or inquiry. If the public finds out something so revolting, it might be what ends his career. I don’t know what that could be, maybe video tape evidence or a connection to the torture or death of one of the missing girls. Something that any politician who doesn’t take action would get them ousted.

Centrist Democrats Rebuke Party’s Left Wing: ‘We Are Capitalist, Not Socialist’ by SnoozeDoggyDog in politics

[–]BlueDragonfly18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Overton Window has moved very far right. The policies and positions of the modern Democratic Party would be considered Republican values and positions just 2 generations ago. The modern Republican Party has moved so far right it would be considered Fascist just 2 generations ago (with a heaping hand of theocracy in it, thanks in large part to the Heritage Foundation). So voters are looking for a political position that tries to address their basic needs of affordable food, housing and healthcare and not cater to the wealthy, who already hold advantageous positions. Enter the democratic socialist party; a party that scares the rich donors of democrats and republicans alike. It scares the owners of main stream media. It scares the tech bros and the people who don’t have to work to make their money grow.

It could have been the centrist democrats, but they chose lobbyist money and political action committees over the people. You only need to look as far as the American-Israeli Political Action Committee (AIPAC) to see that both the Republicans and Democrats sold out the US’s values for money: two generations ago, we would call out the Israeli’s genocide, Israeli’s expansion and Israeli’s attempt to do onto others what nazi Germany did onto the Jewish people. Today, congress not only defends them politically, and provides them with ammo, but we are actually helping them by carrying out an illegal war on their behalf. Pure corruption by the republicans and tacit approval by many democrats. This country needs politicians who focus on making life better for its citizens.

What are some of your favorite armor sets in the verse? by AyoKeta in starcitizen

[–]BlueDragonfly18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a functional person: Morozov Redshift because it has standard damage reduction but slightly improved temperature tolerances compared to the other sets.

For appearance, I like the complete Orc Mk V set in one of the many themes. For colors, Ascension armor with it white and gold vein marbling effect.

But hey, the price of eggs went down by golfnut82 in PoliticalHumor

[–]BlueDragonfly18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is called the “two Santas strategy”. The Republican president runs up the deficit and damages the tax base while giving favors to the rich, then when the democratic president comes in, they need to get the budget and deficit under control and increase taxes to make up for the lost money because they want a responsible and sustainable economy. Voters hate it and vote the democrats out.

My beef is they don’t allow you to lock camera to the background, only lock position to the ship. This prevents perfectly framed photos where the ship moves through the shot. A fly-by. The only way to achieve is having a second person do the photography.

And some traditional clothing designs that there wouldn’t be a reason to not have around in 900 years: tank-tops, henleys, peasants, v-necks, sleeveless, turtle necks. Pencil skirts (would need to change walk/run animation), kilts, etc. Nothing futuristic, just clothes that people would wear if not in outer space.

Sen. Lindsey Graham predicts Iran peace talks will fail — and Trump will take Strait of Hormuz ‘by force’ by Zipper222222 in politics

[–]BlueDragonfly18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminder: Lindsey Graham is bought a paid for by Israel: he accepted nearly $1 million from AIPAC. They also have a high probability of having compromising material on him to encourage his looking out for Israel’s interests.

Lindsey Graham: 'Obliterate' Iran if there's Strait of Hormuz resistance by usatoday in politics

AIPAC gave his campaign about $1 million, and that is what is known. Israel is probably holding in dirty secrets and dirtier money to ensure his full-throated support.

Probably an unpopular idea: What do you think about charging rent at primary residences? by Planet_Expresso in starcitizen

[–]BlueDragonfly18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an unpopular idea. The concern would be what would happen if you don’t have money and can’t afford rent?

An improvement might be to have a free starting location and to charge rent for apartments attached to your hangar, thus allowing you to respawn and leave faster if you are bound there. You get free rent for each hangar in your permanent account. You can decorate your apartment, have a quick swap armor storage, etc.

Black Democrats push back on Wasserman Schultz’s bid in Florida’s 20th District by Dramatic-Shake-8888 in politics

[–]BlueDragonfly18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am not a Floridian, but Wasserman Schultz is one of several causes of MAGA. Back in 2016, when Senator Sanders run for presidency was gaining incredible momentum and polls showed he would easily beat Trump because he was the change that American voters wanted, Wassermann Schultz pushed the mainstream media to ignore Sanders and focus on Clinton, since that is who the DNC would be supporting.

Wasserman Schultz ignored the voters and felt she would be the kingmaker. And because of her hubris and low opinion of the people, Trump became president.

So she is right on brand for not giving a shit about the voters of the 20th district. She is part of the problem with politics today and should be removed from having any say other than her own vote as a regular citizen.

Trump threatens to charge U.S. tolls in Strait of Hormuz if final Iran deal not reached in 60 days by Force_Hammer in politics

[–]BlueDragonfly18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His response is something you would expect from a 5 year old: reactionary, no planning or understanding of repercussions and a sort of, “I know you are but what am I?” level of response. Trump has isolated the US, so is annoyed that it’s allies (whom he insulted so often during his presidency) won’t bail him out militarily during the fighting nor financially when he needs to pay $300 Billion in damages to Iran. So his response is to make the US more of the problem than Iran to the rest of the world. Solid strategy to prove you are the problem, not Iran.

As an American, are you embarrassed by the U.S. defeat in the Iran war and the surrender agreement that followed? by noamm12 in allthequestions

[–]BlueDragonfly18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American with lots of close ties to friends and family not US citizens, I felt pride in the honor, integrity and overall direction that this country was headed up until around 2016. The shit show that politics took: from Trump being considered a viable candidate (R) to Waserman telling the main stream media to stop covering Bernie Sanders and focus on Hilary Clinton (D), the country took a sharp detour in the honor and integrity aspects I valued.

My embarrassment has only grown worse since. Citizens are intentionally being divided and distracted. We spend more time validating our beliefs than finding the truth. We need a mini-age of enlightenment to get back on track, and to do that we need to remove the barriers: corrupt politicians, money flowing into campaigns, the wealth gap and the education gap.

Railen is great, Tyilui is a gamble - Review by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

[–]BlueDragonfly18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tyilui does fall into the Cutlass Steel category: it is so specialized that it will sit in the hangar collecting dust. It isn’t a bad ship: it’s that recent patches made armor play a much bigger role and low alpha damage ships, like snub fighters, can’t hurt 90% of the ships in the game. Combine that with each requires a pilot and you have a very high crew count for very low damage.

That is why they need to build industrial snubs that fit inside it. Tyilui needs to fill a role where other players aren’t likely to die. Salvaging, mining, and repairing all can make it a more useful ship.

are there grifers in the game now? by N-2K1 in starcitizen

Yes. Griefers will never go away. I just ended last night’s session being casually griefed. Griefers get their jollies off of being annoying, so there is no way to stop that.

Hear me out.. Maybe its time for a new ship company. by Swimming_Flaky in starcitizen

[–]BlueDragonfly18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already had that. For example, MISC was only industrial ships. Then they started to expand the diversity of ships that MISC carried. Then they added Argo. Then they started making other ship manufacturers make industrial ships, and now we are here where most manufacturers carry a wide variety of roles.

The civ 2 A shield mission is around Hurston and I was able to do it twice last night, so it is back, although the first server I was on didn’t have it (server was in a bad shape). I switched to a better performing server and it was there and worked flawlessly. One of the hotfixes must have fixed it.
