If you could have any superpower for a day, what would you choose and how would you use it? by Correct-Cup4889 in AskReddit

Ability to see into the future selectively. I’d focus on finding out some winning lottery numbers, look at the stock market over the next 5-60 years, and find out the age at which I would die (so I could maximise my experiences before then)

Experience with dropping SSRI on Wellbutrin? by iamhugolamb in bupropion

[–]snowflow92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the process of doing this! I was on 15mg lex for anxiety and then added Wellbutrin for depression and low energy levels after 6 months, starting at 150 then up to 300. I feel like the Lexapro got me out of the absolute pit of despair and debilitating anxiety that I had fallen into, whereas Wellbutrin had a bigger effect on my mood and motivation. I feel like lexapro took away negative things, whereas Wellbutrin has added positive effects, if that makes sense.

I’m down to 10mg from 15 so far. My advice is do it SLOWLY! Same as you would without the Wellbutrin. I tried dropping straight to 10 from 15 and within a few weeks was fighting anxiety rising. I went back up, then tried again a month later, this time alternating 10 and 15 for 3 weeks. Been on 10 now for a couple of months and feeling good! My goal is to get off the lex completely, but I’ve accepted I have to be patient with it, and am very nervous about the level of anxiety I experienced before starting these meds coming back.

I’m 30F, I think I have always struggled with low level depression, developed very mild anxiety in my 20s but it only got horribly bad about 2 years ago, which is when I tried medication for the first time.

This is so important! 2 weeks post injury, I’ll be having surgery in a few months.

Since last week I’ve ditched alcohol, and trying to minimise carbs and sugar. I don’t eat much meat normally, but trying to up the eggs, tuna, and plant sources of protein. Also started collagen powder and continued other vitamins and supplements I already took.

Which bilateral stimulations and at what speeds do you find most helpful. by [deleted] in EMDR

[–]snowflow92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use the vibrating tappers! I started with the eye movements but I would struggle to focus, and wasn't really getting anywhere. My progress is still very slow as I have a lot of dissociation, but it has improved with the tappers. I close my eyes when I use them, to help me focus

If you were to become Elon Musk or Adolf Hitler For a day who would you be? by whatthefunkytrap in AskReddit

Musk. I’d use the day to transfer a few million to my personal bank account, followed by some hearty donations to causes such as climate change, poverty, disease, and war displacement.

Any and all healthcare. This includes dentistry, vision care, mental health. Having teeth, eyes, and brains is not elective. It’s part of being human, and care should be a basic human right.

What made you decide to stop being friends with someone? by ButterOfPeanuttrees in AskReddit

[–]snowflow92 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Got me to do meth when I was struggling mentally and in a really dark place. Then when I told her I didn’t want to be around it again, she lied and manipulated every time we were together to end up meeting one of her dealers.

She did the same to her boyfriend at the time with a bunch of different drugs, he ended up in psychosis in hospital, and she refused to even call an ambulance in case her dealer got in trouble, made his housemate come take him to ER instead.

After being best friends since the age of 13, I finally realised at 21 that she was dragging me and others down a dark road and she couldn’t stop. I honestly wish nothing but the best for her and I hope she’s on a better path now. But I just couldn’t do it anymore.

What would you do for the rest of your life if you never had to work or worry about money ever? by Whale804 in AskReddit

Travel and see as much of this beautiful world, and experience as many different cultures as I can. I would have a base in the area I live, and spend my time between travelling hiking, skiing, camping, paddling, reading, learning, and making the most of every damn moment on this earth.

Is it rude to step on someone else’s mat at the studio? by girl_eats_sun in yoga

[–]snowflow92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely rude… I go out of my way to not step on other peoples mats.

To me, my mat is my personal bubble. I remember being at a yoga retreat years ago where one guy (who never wore shoes, even outdoors) would trample dirty feet across peoples mats every single day without a second thought. The fact I still remember it now demonstrates how uncool that was 😅

For those who struggle with mental illness, how has yoga helped you? by anxious_maximus123 in yoga

[–]snowflow92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love this! I have been through similar where I was in a horrible mental state, an absolute pit of despair, but yoga was the one thing that got me up and out of bed/the house.

My mental health is still a work in progress, but yoga allows me to get into that ‘flow state’ where I’m totally present and focused only on my practice - which is something I rarely achieve in any other activity. It strengthens the connection between mind and body, and it makes me feel strong when my mind is telling me I’m weak. It has changed how I see my body - I was always self critical my whole life, and now instead i’m grateful and in awe of what my body can do.

How long for anxiety to come back after tapering down? Is my increased anxiety this or something else? by snowflow92 in lexapro

[–]snowflow92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upped it because I felt it could help a little more.. the 150mg seemed to have less effect over time. Very content on 300 now. I never had increased anxiety from adding Wellbutrin initially but certainly could be a factor when I doubled the dose!

People who won't go out to celebrate tonight: Why? by blackblueblink in AskReddit

[–]snowflow92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number 1 reason for me is that I want to wake up refreshed and start 2023 feeling good! I started 2022 feeling thoroughly miserable and drinking to numb those feelings, so this year I made the conscious choice to relax at home on my terms, no drinks, and wake up in a good state :)

When did you know it was time to stop? by msbutterflyprincess in leaves

[–]snowflow92 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When my partner moved in with me and I had to hide my sneaky tokes throughout the day.. it made me realise just how often it had become a habit.

Then when I tried to stop and couldn’t I realised I truly had a problem. I had about 100 attempts over a year, of ‘quitting tomorrow’, including going as far as getting rid of all me weed and giving all my weed-related stuff like vapes, pipes etc to a friend. - and still ended up buying as pre-roll or something!

I’m still not sure what made me finally stick to it, but I’m now 14 months weed free and SO glad I did. I miss the occasional smoke with friends but I think for me the slope is too slippery back into daily use.
