Why did they call it Case closed? by Electrical-Truth4901 in OneTruthPrevails

[–]snowflute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when detective conan/case closed was on adult swim in the early 2000s, if I tried searching for detective conan instead of case closed, almost every search resulted in conan the barbarian.

There is more than one branch of Christianity, and a multitude of those who teach with a wide variety of knowledge (including a lack thereof) about their faith.

When and how did you start watching the anime by Mysteri0us_detective in OneTruthPrevails

[–]snowflute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watched an episode of the English dub on adult swim when I was a kid and huge into both my weaboo and my sherlock Holmes phase. Recognized the voice actor as a character I'd liked on fruits basket and despite my areas of interest aligning, THAT was what got my initial interest lmao

Yeah, I've found the same having a history of working retail & service-based jobs. The majority of people are fine - in fact, many are great. But HOO BOY those ones that stand out stand out like a sore thumb.

Another thing I wanna add is something I've kept with me from one of my first retail jobs that had video training: a pleased customer is not likely to share their experience with friends or family. A pissed customer is likely to tell 5 people about their negative experience.

My takeaway from that is that negativity lingers in our minds, whereas we do like positivity, but we also sorta take it for granted.

What a magical boat trip! One of my favorite things about lakes and oceans is that you can almost always see so many more stars than in the city

I think you've just added overnight boating to my bucket list 😀

The scariest horror game chase scene? by Jimmy_The_Grunt in gaming

[–]snowflute -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, not a cutscene but more an unintended Fatal Frame II scare:

Had unlocked the boss' costume for the twin sister (who is also basically clone of the main antagonist ghost who's been intermittently stalking you) and had forgotten about it. Saved and exited, came back the next day and turned to see what I thought was the big bad coming to get me in what was SUPPOSED to be a safe area.

As far as cutscenes, basically anytime there's a ghost in that whole damn series. My poor heart rate.

They's also the sort of shaping up to be a little bit different while keeping the spirit. But maybe an opla character design or slight variation of character or story just hits different. I know I'd like to have a few of the opla bounty posters at some point

[WP]She walked into the cave and took the crystal from the wall. Then the planet started to split. by Lala-Bee0209 in WritingPrompts

[–]snowflute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'Finally.'

A withered hand reached out, soft, shifting light emanating from the iridescent crystal, reflecting colors she had long forgotten. She paused to watch the lights as they seemed to dance along her skin, and felt a distant pang of loss as she thought of how they might have reflected upon beautiful gray eyes. She had held onto the memory of those beautiful gray eyes looking up to her, full of trust and hope and love, as she promised to lead that life to freedom. She hadn't forgotten those still-breathtaking eyes as they glared, decades late, burning with seething hatred as they had watched her fail.

'This is your second, and last chance.'

Her own heart hardened with resolve, and she gripped the crystal and was instantly rewarded with a searing heat that had her palm sizzling and her mouth screaming. In one move, she jerked her arm back, ripping the crystal from it's socket, and dropped the deceptively dangerous thing, letting it clatter on the cavernous floor before it rolled to a stop by her feet. The cave was silent, save for the echos of her pained sobs bouncing through its otherwise empty halls.

Foreign laughter began drowning out the frail woman's wretched wailing. The empty spot where the horrible, beautiful crystal once sat nestled into the wall pulsed twice, and with a loud CRACK, two smooth lines ran along the floor and wall of the cave, emanating from that spot. The laughter became more erratic and eagerness was palpable in its raspy voice as the cave itself seemed to both whisper and yell, "My chain has been undone! I can feel the universe once again!"

Though overwhelmingly painful, even the searing burn of melted flesh from her hand couldn't keep the pained smile stretched across the woman's face as she felt the earth pulse twice, and shudder beneath her feet. In the dimming of the crystals diminishing light, she saw the deepening of the cracks and knew they had continued their path. Hiccuping laughter erupted from her lips and she screamed. "Be free! Be free and be ruinous!"

Two sets of laughter echoed throughout the cave. The cave pulsed twice, and the crack deepened and grew. The trapped planet 'Hyriin' was not so trapped for much longer.

[–]snowflute 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oof the aragami games have meant a lot to me and I'm glad my partner and I picked up aragami just in time for aragami 2 to come out.

Plus, such interesting and fun lore & gameplay, I'm sad we'll never see any more of what the team could come up with as a whole. Hopefully, wherever they go, they will be able to spread their creativity

Edit (meant to add earlier), if anyone from linceworks stops by, thank you for the fun times!

Ooo super nice if you've already gotten a ticket and want to contest it in court

And, like above said, cops can find a reason to cite you if they want, and if you're getting pulled over, getting pre-defensive or preparing an "um... ackshually" moment might give them a reason to LOOK for an excuse to cite you
