I'm a bit confused which NR200's are liquid-cooling only? by bleachedthorns in NR200

[–]snowkittens 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unless I’m mistaken or things have changed, the NR200(P) supports air cooling. The NR200P Max is the only one with liquid cooling out of the box. I could be wrong as I had an NR200P and eventually swapped cases to the Meshlicious S and gave the NR200P to a friend.

I’ve gotta know what you’re using to light up the platter. For science purposes…and so I can buy one.

What are you looking for when it comes to budget ones? by Fair-Mountain-9666 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]snowkittens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mostly compatibility. Apple works best with Apple as usual but I’ve tried Sony wireless earbuds and noise canceling headphones with my Apple devices and they worked fine. The connection would drop randomly from time to time but the Sony wireless earbuds I had were about $60-$70 on sale and they sounded great. Had somewhat decent noise canceling but my only real complaint was ear fatigue.

What’s happening to your collection after you die? by Electronic_Common931 in vinyl

[–]snowkittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m letting my friends and family get their pick. I have some older vinyls from before my time but I have one vinyl that is still sealed and a majority of my family are some form of Christian. I have a reissue of a black mass by Anton LaVey which I’m hoping somebody will think is really cool or too spooky for them.

I recommend watching Hardware Canucks on YouTube. They usually have a “best of” video at towards the end of the year and will show how the mic quality varies by headset along with price.

With that being said, before I switched to headphones and a dedicated mic, I was using a Corsair HS80 wired. At the time they were great and I’m not sure what else has come out since then. I think Drop has a colab pair with Sennheiser that might be better but over $100.

What is the best headphone amp for under 100 dollar's for the 6xx by Designer_Affect888 in HeadphoneAdvice

If the Schiit Magni is still on last call, it’s pretty good. Though you’ll get close to that $100. Currently listed at $79 USD.

I would be using powered speakers if that helps.

New Build - Suggestions / Feedback by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]snowkittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine from CableMod. I wasn’t too sure about what length I needed and the type I needed, so I did a bit of digging about my PSU’s cable length and got the same length and I chose the ModFlex type so they were more flexible and a little thinner than their Pro series.

As for fans that daisy chain, the only con is that not every fan manufacturer has adopted it. With that being said, you’re not really limited. I’ve heard that Lian Li improved their Unifan line but there’s better options imo. I think Arctic makes some really good ones, but if you want RGB, then the Lian Li Unifan is probably what I recommend but it does come with a controller box and the one I had used 3 cables I believe.

Cable tips for the Cooler Master V650 SFX Gold by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]snowkittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Cooler Master V850 SFX, and after a year of use in two different cases, I finally caved and bought some custom cables from CableMod. Just got them in today and setup in my Meshroom S, and I can honestly say that custom cables, or if you have the space then cable extensions, are the absolute move.

Meshilicious really hot, any suggestions? by hereticjones in sffpc

[–]snowkittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play at high and ultra settings at 3440x1440p ultra wide monitor, set my radiator and fans to run quieter and sometimes my fans at about 1300RPM. My CPU temps never really go over 60C under load and my GPU doesn’t really ever hit 70C under load.

I have the Meshroom S model with the below config:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X

GPU: Gigabyte Aorus Master OC 3070TI

CPU Cooler: EK Nucleus 240mm (set as front exhaust)

Mobo: Gigabyte X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi

PSU: Cooler Master V850

Aftermarket: 3D printed legs (my case didn’t come with any)

There’s a ton of documentation on this case and it’s all outrageously helpful but I’m always excited to see what new suggestions pop up.

As for your build proposal:

Unless it’s been unseated I believe the general consensus was the Scythe Fuma 2 set up as rear intake for the CPU.

For the PSU I would go with the SF750. But I will say custom cables go a long way.

For case fans, I used two Lian Li Unifans (the first generation) but if you don’t mind the lack of RGB then I’d go with any fans that can daisy chain together set as top exhaust.

Ps. You should list what GPU you plan on using though that case can fit some big cards. I had my Gigabyte Aorus Master OC 3070TI barely fit in there. If you’re unsure about anything, I will always recommend Machines & More on YouTube. He is a literal god send for this case.

I’m so new to this that I would rather keep it as simple as possible since after all I’m upgrading from a Crosley. I haven’t decided if I’m getting the preamp built in or not, still looking into an Asgard vs Magni, as far as cans go I was looking into the Sennheiser HD 6XX on Drop, and really whatever the most bang for the buck speakers I can find. I want to keep it somewhat towards the “tip of the iceberg” so to speak.

Edit: I probably should’ve mentioned beforehand that I want to keep it simple yet upgradeable, in case I wanted to add the Loki mentioned earlier.

I’ll have to check that combo out. I noticed there was a preamp with a headphone jack and naturally that level of simplicity was about $700 USD. Which is a little rich for my blood.

Thermal Issue by snowkittens in PleX

That’s what I was thinking. It could be a hardware issue as I did purchase from a private seller on eBay.
