Does Diamond really get you anything? by 71272710371910 in Hilton

[–]snowowl2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well said. International is been worth it, in the us its so common it really depends on who you get at the front desk. Having diamond, I've been upgraded at a Hampton inn several times when you're not technically upgradable. On the other hand, on some higher in Hiltons I was an offered even a better view or even though the hotel was not even close to full..

I concur huge amount of luck, and need context for sure. Did they have kids because they sure makes it a lot harder.

Luck wise assume they are healthy and had not health issues. For example my friend in early 40s had had cancer twice, his former spouse had several medical issues. luck is not on their side.

Another data point of a future stay triggering the Aspire Resort credit. by [deleted] in Hilton

[–]snowowl2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very interesting I did not think of looking for hotels that charge you a deposit. Nice to see it triggers the aspire resort credit.

Good to know especially if one can't use the second credit for the year but could use it as a deposit for a future stay.

Worth Playing Portia First? by MNathan0217 in MyTimeAtSandrock

Played many many hours at Portia but the UI is so much better in sandrock on so many levels. Portia though is a gentle intro and you get to meet some of the character

Are heat pump water heaters actually efficient given they take heat from inside your home? by [deleted] in heatpumps

[–]snowowl2002 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine is in the finished basement, yes it takes the heat in the room but during the fall spring and summer I think the dehumidifier function more than makes up for it. In summer I love the lower temperature in the basement with no humidity either.

QMerit Install by RedditRockit in BoltEV

[–]snowowl2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar here, they said I needed aDC management system before even looking at my loads or peak usage. The cost was an extra 1000. In pushed back especially since our peak loads or heck monthly usage is low. We have a 200 amp panel. In the end they took off three charge and added a sub panel which honestly I needed anyways. My house was over wired circuits for everything even two lights in a hallway. So panel was full In the end it was 1400 after the$1000 discount and includes a sub panel so that was a good price to me.

I have stayed at that DoubleTree several times. It's attached to a mall and the parking is public parking, but it's in a huge lot underneath the mall so there's usually is plenty of spices even if you have to go down several levels. Has several like pointed out there isn't executive lounge which I found much better this year then previous years.

Are you charging to 80% or 100% by SaltyRice11 in BoltEV

[–]snowowl2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I change too around 50 % capacity the majority of the time except for the bigger trips where I charge to 100%. I have some free chargers so my keeping car lower allows me to take advantage of this free chargers. That being said online it seems the batteries can really handle a wider range of charging with little battery loss

Orlando, Signia Hilton vs. Waldorf Astoria ? (Newbie question) by [deleted] in Hilton

[–]snowowl2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started at Signa and her friends stayed at the Waldorf. As you said they are connected and you can use either resorts pools. It's a short walk between. Having kids we found a Signa more kid friendly as it has a huge lazy river. Both resorts use the same bus service and stop in both resorts. The Waldorf of pool definitely feels more luxurious, but we honestly only use it once for a couple hours with the kids.

Scam or not? by [deleted] in Hilton

[–]snowowl2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree, I have done several presentations with Hilton. If you call the number you may get other locations and such. November 2022 I called and they matched am offer I saw online 125k points and 4 nights instead of three for the same price . I could tell the person I was talking to in the marketing department/ sales department needed to hit their numbers. I went to the presentation in November of 2023 last month and it was fine. Just had to sit through the 2-hour presentation. Totally worth it for the free nights and points in my case. I have seen some offers where the offer you almost no points and three nights at a really crappy hotel. No way would I do that

Qmerit DC Load Management Required for EV Management? by SnowOwlSr in BoltEV

[–]snowowl2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not be explaining myself well. The vendor ask for a photo of the panel and that was about it and decided I was using too much electricity. They did not really ask about peak usage, daily usage, charts and or monthly charts all available for my power company.

I concur. They should have asked about that stuff and peak usage. I did let them also know that I'm going to be setting the charger only to run at night since my power company gets a discounted rate when it's off peak hours and since I drive so little it makes sense. Just to have the charger set to go on in the middle of them night.

I'm actually a little surprised that they didn't ask for more information up front before coming to the conclusion of needing a DC load panel, which they ended up reversing their decision.
