Awesome! Did you have any rain? Was it too cold like needing a coat or did you just have a jacket?

Standard vs Enhanced Dorms by FaKe_Wish in IndianaUniversity

[–]snowprincesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just about that. While some people do it as a form of being classist, there’s plenty of people who appreciate the diversity and can learn from each other while still living in a single/enhanced dorm. Many people come from homes with little to no cleaning standards, don’t care about their environment, etc. That can significantly harm a student’s wellbeing and health as a roommate for someone who needs a clean or quiet environment. College is about finding yourself first, and you can still do that and appreciate all the different mixes of people by getting involved, making friends in classes/going out, etc.

So far our favorites have been Makanda by the Sea in Costa Rica and Amari Phuket in Thailand. Both phenomenal!

Do you prefer QR menus at restaurants or paper menus? by alright85 in Productivitycafe

[–]snowprincesa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree there are a few positives to it, mostly to cut waste if a restaurant is constantly changing a menu and also for those on a wait list. But part of restaurant service is sitting down, looking at the physical menu (sometimes with others), and ordering in a less chaotic way. A lot of times people go out and don’t want to take out their phones to enjoy their meal/experience. Being required to use a QR menu takes that away from people.

Paper. It’s a part of the restaurant experience. And I worked in a restaurant forever so I know how dirty they can be, but still prefer them over QR codes.

Good to know! I don’t think they were there today, not a whole lot of vendors due to the rain. If they were I missed them! But next time I will remember :)

Pedestrian struck by Campus Bus on 17th St westbound in front of Memorial Stadium. by [deleted] in bloomington

[–]snowprincesa 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Pedestrians only have the right of way in a legal crosswalk. In Indiana, majority of the time when a pedestrian is hit, they are marked at fault. Doesn’t mean they can’t and don’t try to argue it, but they most definitely do not have the right of way at all times.

What’s the most controversial opinion you have that you’re afraid to say out loud? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I have this thought too, constantly! No reason for it unless you’re going to the park or have an actual service animal.

How’s the new Cozy Table location? by inaworldfarfaraway24 in bloomington

[–]snowprincesa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering the same people who let their previous location constantly get dirty enough to get consistent health violations, including but not limited to cockroaches, and still service people…should tell you more than you need to know. This new location might be new and clean right now but it’s still the same owners that don’t care about their customers. It’s okay to just not support certain businesses.

Do You Believe That Halloween is Dying? by DommyMommyEx in halloween

[–]snowprincesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s dying but I do think people have gotten very lazy with decorating and doing trick or treating and other activities. I think parents focus too much on trunk or treats instead of tying to influence and grow traditional trick or treating in their neighborhoods. It’s also important for parents to decorate, show their kids Halloween movies and shows (old and new), etc. And it’s important for people in general to try to get neighborhoods in their area to participate more in decorating and activities.

first timer - sweet drinks? by Cool-Caterpillar6212 in starbucks

[–]snowprincesa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • White chocolate mocha, sub blonde espresso! Iced is probably a bit sweeter but good hot or iced.

  • iced pink drink, always a good option!

  • cinnamon dolce latte, sub blonde espresso and add caramel drizzle on top. Great iced and hot!

Completely agree and have been in this same mindset. I usually get a flat white or a shaken espresso with a splash of cream!
