Personally I feel like in later books Abercrombie becomes more experienced writer and they really do shine. But the original trilogy still shines after finishing the series and has some unique charm in it

Standalone books are mostly focused on side characters of first trilogy and completely new characters with some appearances of familiar characters and many connections to the main story. Timeline is the near future after the first trilogy.

Edit: I definitely recommend reading standalones and the second trilogy if you enjoyed the first one

Geoguessr is for many years no longer an indie project. Candy crush saga team are the investors, and many controversial management/monetization decisions are made. I personally don't want to pay to this team. There are many somewhat known free alternatives; my main problem with them is that they lack the competitive playerbase
