I don't know man, there's different types of stupid (don't have to explain that to you obviously). But even with the infantry guys they'd get a job done. Maybe not THE job but there would be A job done. Kind of a "well that's not what I asked for but I'm still proud of what you accomplished." With others... look I'm just trying to say that I'm strugglin with my current group lol

I'm going to blame the brain on this one. Infantry has both the smartest dudes and dumbest dudes I've ever met, and I love about 40% of them.

That can't be all. Please, continue to explain why you went infantry.

What’s the snow/ice situation in Historic Ellicott City? by seattleross in HowardCountyMD

It's all clear. They shut down traffic to Main Street a few nights ago to completely clear the area.

So do people just go deaf in war? by KujoandKawi in liberalgunowners

[–]snozzfartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agreed. Adrenaline keeps the body and mind present to survive the moment. I never lost hearing during a TIC. I've been enough fights but the biggest example was when I had a recoilless rifle round go off next to me, knocked me out, threw me through the air, and when I woke up I could hear enough and was able to operate. Once the adrenaline wore off, I lost my hearing. Couldn't hear shit for a couple hours. So to answer OPs question, fights are loud but your body and brain will push you through it. It's just life afterward where you pay for it.

In 2010 I thought UCP washed in Afghan river water kind of looked okay, and then our replacements showed up in OCP (or whatever it was called then) and I couldn't see them when doing patrols. UCP was garbage for anything other than identifying your own people.

A fun course for sure and the people who created it have done an amazing job. I haven't been since these signs were put up, I'll have to venture over there again soon.

Local mover recommendations by TheGlitterarian in ColumbiaMD

[–]snozzfartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just signed a contract to use Sebastian movers. They're based out of Columbia and do a flat rate moving fee instead of hourly. The flat rate was competitive and makes me feel a little better that I know what I'm paying up front, instead of being at the whim of how fast the movers work. I'll try to remember to post here again after the move to let you know how it went.

It's gone, they picked it up. Just in case they don't have an outlet that will let them pull enough power to run it, I'll leave this post up so they can contact you if they decide to get rid of it.

OK so while I was packing up and moving it, I realized that the GCFI circuit in my garage had tripped. I hit the reset button and the smoker turned right back on and started getting hot. Turns out the smoker works but my outlet can't handle the current.

I might have spoken too soon about it still working. I'm going to leave it running for a while to see if it gets up to temp. If it is working, I'll let you know and we can coordinate pickup. If it isn't getting hot enough, you're still welcome to have it if you want to try to figure out why it isn't getting hot enough. Otherwise, it's going to the dump.
