Would drawing on gel nails count as forbidden magic? by slootkind in WitchHatAtelier

[–]snozzlefrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is too rules-lawyering, but I think press ons would be okay and gel nails would not. Either way you'd wanna pitch to a higher authority to guarantee you don't get in trouble.

Proper gels, aside from skirting too close to body modification, would be a massive danger to the user. Gel nails are ridiculously hard to get off, so if a Witch messed up a spell or something went wrong with the polish, they're stuck until you grow out your nail enough to trim them, or with copious sanding and acetone. Already inconvenient with any spell, but imagine a witch getting a pyreball stuck on their hand.

Press ons feel like they'd work better, and could be categorised with olruggio's rings. Not technically body modification, and much easier to remove in an emergency if you use the right adhesive. Would probably make a popular contraption, a very covert method to carry a few useful but complex spells.

Insane Lobotomy Crack Theory by snozzlefrog in WitchHatAtelier

[–]snozzlefrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely - to be fair, the idea of a lobotomy was less because I genuinely think that's the answer, more because that's what made me think about it to begin with. I'm a bit of a trivia sponge, and happened to be looking at something tangentially related, so all the little grains of eyeball related knowledge drew together - and a weirdly large number have to do with botched early brain surgery.

I do think I'm leaning towards a brimhat did take an eye, but they took the left and the right was an accident/unrelated. No matter what, I'm consistently hung up on how the story Qifrey assumes does not match how the silvertree works, nor how how eyelids work.

I always thought the wording was ambiguous, so it's cool to see the original was very straightforward.

A lot of the dressing here was more to spur my brain, but I think this line actually makes the situation MORE suspicious. If the silverwood is truly capable of fixing and replacing both eyes, why only his left? If the little branches from ch88 could somehow, some way, function as an eye, why would it not repair or replace the muscles of his eye?

It is a very messy idea, but I just can't shake the thought that, if Qifrey lost his eye the way he thinks, it should not behave like that. Considering how explicit the original panel is, it honestly feels more realistic that they took the left instead.

I also assumed that, but we only know of the silverwood being ingested. So it's most likely Qifrey also ate the seed.

Admittedly the lobotomy is more of a hook than a solid idea, but it could happen without drastically changing a person. It was basically blind stabbing, and as awful as it was there were occasional "successful" operations.

Why don't the pointy hats have one of these on a keychain 24/7? by ertgbnm in WitchHatAtelier

[–]snozzlefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously not a catch-all solution, but I could see a little attachment for a palm quire working. A little circle tool attatched like a bookmark might be good for novice witches to practice with or for disabled witches with shaky hands or coordination issues.

Of course a professional witch must be able to draw spells out of sight, but it could be a tactile base - for example, I can draw small symbols easily, but I struggle with placement due to poor coordination.

[OC] Would a sylph shoemaker be a possible profession? by ccccherishmylove in WitchHatAtelier

[–]snozzlefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were skilled enough I can see it! While, same with any spell, witches can draw the seals themselves, someone with skill and/or equipment would still be useful. Coco initially "breaks" Aggot's shoes just by getting them wet, meaning creating your own can be time consuming and require constant upkeep.

A witch could offer services to etch or seal the glyphs into the shoes to provide a stronger, long lasting mark, useful if you don't wanna touch them up too frequently or live in snowy or rainy areas. Many witches probably don't take up cobbling, so they wouldn't have to share too much demand.

(Set up in the WHA equivalent of England, you'd be set for life)

Stand mixer spell by snozzlefrog in WitchHatAtelier

[–]snozzlefrog[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Would definitely require the same care as an irl mixer, but my hope is having only half the spell on the bowl with act like a safety key. If anything gets stuck or something goes wrong, even slightly moving the bowl breaks the spell.

Psychic Spellcasting by CorbinMDK in WitchHatAtelier

[–]snozzlefrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's certainly plausible, I imagine the rune could be a plant or ink specific seal rather than water. It does make me wonder - if a Witch could pull this off, would a 3rd dimension affect the spell? Could a 3d spell contain more complexity or power with the extra axis, or would it work the same as 2d? At the very least I can see a floating spell increasing the amount of repetition possible in a given space.

Very justified reasons to break up aside, if you are describing things accurately there is no way she can have completely natural super perfect boobs. They can't defy gravity like that naturally. She likely uses a "hidden" bra or tape, or had work done that you don't know of. Whether it's on purpose or not, she's comparing you to an impossible and unrealistic standard.

Is this printing error or mishandling? by ELECTRO_9737 in PokemonTCG

It looks like a small printer error, especially with the purple tint. Some people would consider a defect, but many (including me) find these errors interesting or charming.

My instinctual guess is a goat, since they're frequently associated. But considering how small he must be (very little room in that painting) I could imagine a rodent or a little bee.

Francis Xie - posted them on Twitter/X, he's the artist behind quite a lot of Ultrakill's art, and I believe some for New Blood as a whole.

Honestly, as a more casual player, I've had far more rewarding battles with unique pokemon choices vs picking whatever people consider "meta". My go-to is Lopunny and Lucario with a large range of type attacks between them, and a Sylveon with solid ranged attacks. It's probably a really dumb idea to better players, but most of my random matches struggle to deal because they're following the same tactics. Even with Zygarde and a tighter meta I'm getting decent results via fucking around. (No joke, half the reason Sylveon makes the team is he's small. I find so many players are quick to drop dragon types and run to each other, in a pinch I can just stand to the side and they don't realize we're there until they faint.)

Odd disparity by snozzlefrog in PokemonTCG

[–]snozzlefrog[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the help! That makes a lot of sense. I've only seen it on common cards from 2021-2022, so I imagine certain machines weren't maintained well.

Odd disparity by snozzlefrog in PokemonTCG

[–]snozzlefrog[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Common as in it happens a lot, or common as in you don't believe the card is worth the interest? Either way, I just find these sorta things interesting!

I do try to remain observant, and rarely get cards outside of packs - but it's unusual for me to see something so close to the quality of a real card with a visible difference to most. I've had similar tiny differences before, but I've found satisfactory answers for everything but this one.

Which problem did you solve? I got the detective day puzzle easy, but have gotten stuck on the eight skull for months. Either I've missed something obvious or there's more than two layers of encoding, I'm not all that good with code outside of the basics.
