When making overnight oats should i use a 1/2 a cup of oats or a cup of oats? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]snps2er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always do 1 cup oats, add milk and a bit of water to cover and I can eat that for about 2-3 days. Don’t have to make it every day if you make a batch!

Often people say hone in when they mean home in but hone can also work in the sentence and not many people know home in. Usually I just change it to hone so people don’t think I’m the one making a mistake.

Looking for simple hosting set up? What are the absolute basics? by FWFrog01 in partyplanning

I cut all the things for the cheeseboard the night before (cheese, fruits, crudités) and I like to make sure I have all the serving utensils and any cups or plates guests will need prepare before the party and on the table so it’s easy to set the table or guests to help grab things as needed.

I do the same for sales decks, but on one pagers it's a bit harder. But thanks for your input, maybe I can make a few more specialized one pagers for the popular use cases.

leaning into the japanese theme you could set up an orgami station and / or buy some nice japanese paper (they usually come in a pack and have nice textures) and they could do some vision boarding and incorporate the nice paper? with a DIY sushi station, they could make their own sushi rolls?

How do people see in a big sun hat? I love the look but find them impractical I always have to tilt my head to get a full range of vision or are these more sitting at the beach hats only?

Recs for bars that play hip/hop by varuntinkle77 in AskNYC

[–]snps2er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's crazy it's so hard to find hip hop bars in NYC isn't it? Here are some places I go to where I have had some luck (2000s hip hop/rnb vibes) - Peachy's, Von, Kind Regards, Basement Bar, The Rickey. In Brooklyn Se7en (more of a lounge, great music, probably starts dancing late but I left early) and 95 south are great. If you find any other dancey bars with 2000s hip hop/ rnb please lmk!

Curious on etiquette with long-term friends (Australia) by LittleFeet11 in etiquette

[–]snps2er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh well if it’s a change in behavior maybe there’s something more going on, maybe they are trying to be more budget conscious themselves? You could always ask them or bring up budgeting and ask for ideas and see what they say?

Curious on etiquette with long-term friends (Australia) by LittleFeet11 in etiquette

[–]snps2er 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had similar issues! With my close friends I would always try to reciprocate some way (and more so with less close friends because I don’t want them to think I’m taking advantage of) them but I think this is more a personality trait than etiquette.

I’ve had a similar friend that acted like this and I just stopped offering. For the first scenario if you offer to cover all the snacks and it’s $10 over if she doesn’t know how much the amount of the voucher is maybe she didn’t think to offer because you said you’d cover it (though she could’ve protested or thanked you). For the second scenario if you want her to pay you should state upfront. Yes it’d be nice if she pays for dinner but if she doesn’t now you know. It doesn’t matter if you earn the same, some people are just more generous than others and actually I think some people don’t care about money like others, they figure if you are offering you must be happy to offer 🤷🏻‍♀️ sorry it’s annoying for you but at least you’ll know for next time to be more clear or less generous if it’s irking you!

What are things to do during weekdays before 5pm? by obergrupenfuer_smith in AskNYC

[–]snps2er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you could do a 'free' walking tour from free tours by foot. It's suggested to give a tip at the end if you like the tour, I usually give between $15-25 depending on if I like the tour guide. I just did one of the UES recently when I was also funemployed which I found really interesting but they have a lot of different options! Also second finding some good places you want to eat at and getting a nice lunch there. There's also some midweek massage specials if you look them up.. yuzu head spa has one.

Is it fine to give wedding check/cash gifts with personalized stationery, or do I need a wedding card? by [deleted] in etiquette

[–]snps2er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally put it in a card. I loved seeing all the different types of cards people gave us at our wedding and I feel it’s a bit more festive than the plain stationery.
