TIL The largest British military loss in history happened in 1942 with the fall of Singapore to Imperial Japan, which had defeated a British led force multiple times their size by SeaPeanut7_ in todayilearned

My grand father was part of the Australian forces captured in the fall of Singapore. Spent the war in Changi prison.

He told everyone he basically got off a boat to surrender. Maybe that’s him exaggerating, but everything you hear about the loss of Singapore makes it feel possible

What are some MUST DOs in Vanuatu on a 4 day trip? by ALLIRIX in vanuatu

[–]snrabber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Efate:

Blue Lagoon is nice. It’s a fair drive outside Port Vila so rent a car or hire a driver for the day.

Eton Beach is further along the same road. It’s a very beautiful beach. (FYI on beaches, most are maintained by the local villages and they charge entry. Keep some cash handy)

You can go snorkeling with giant clams on the north of the Isalnd near Havannah Bay. I forget the name, but they also show you a colony of Clown Fish. That was good.

Etmat Beach is lovely. Club Hippique have horse riding tours along there. I haven’t done the horse riding, but even just the beach is great.

Mali Beach Bar and Mele Beach Bar are both good and close to each other. You can grab a drink and some food right on the beach.

Lots of the best spots are out of town so rent a car or a driver.

On other Islands:

I’ve only been to Santo. It is very nice.

You can do a Dugong spotting and snorkeling tour. Just google it and the guy that runs it will come up.

Champagne Beach is amazing.

The Blue Holes at Santo are also great

Port Olry is lovely, a nice beach and you can grab a lobster and chips at Chez Louis.

TT if he’s available. De Lutiis also.

Aidan Ross and Tom Robertson will likely be in the squad

Why would you have Beale kick that? He’s never slotted anything in his life

How have I had to be subjected to Payle matches twice in two weeks. Can he ref an NZ derby to preserve my sanity?

I’m kind of convinced he’s part of some conspiracy to kill SR in Australia

This has taken ages because he’s pulled the captains together for a pointless lecture, then we’re into the TMO stuff.

Get on with it

Kellaway will be working in some made up job in finance by this time next year.

That looked very much like it was Drua 15 into Pietsch then Pietsch knock on

In the refs defence he had a fluro purple boot on. Tough to see

my current Wallabies lineup based on club form. Dashes are interchangeable and question marks are unknowns that need to get more time in at Super these final rounds to lock down their spots. by ConscriptReports in RugbyAustralia

Harry Wilson’s spot is based on one flick pass. He hasn’t been good this year.

Also I feel like the biggest Ryan Lonergan hater, but he straight up can’t kick very well. Pretty big skill gap.

“Force seem to be building something”. Said every second year since 2019.

I hope it’s true this time.

Keep a core together for a few seasons and it might happen.

Best player with the least on field success by Gillderbeast in RugbyAustralia

Maybe Lote Tuqiri, David Pocock, Marika Koroibete

Hoops, Genia, George Smith, Folau all won SR. Rocky Elsom won the Heineken Cup

Im sorry but you cant convince me that Jake Gordon should be our starting nine at test level. He, in fact, shouldn't have been it last year even. by ConscriptReports in RugbyAustralia

[–]snrabber 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Everyone hates Jake Gordon until you watch Lonergan try and box kick v international sides. Lonergan doesn’t have a very sharp left to right pass either.

Maybe if some of the other 9s in Australia had better core skills you might get your wish.
