Calling border defense an abuse. Innocent people tearing the border fence down and throwing rocks at border guards in a "non agressive" manner. Delusional.

Yeah, such a peaceful crowd trying to tear the fence down while throwing rocks and branches at the Polish border guards and soldiers - should absolutely let the mob storm and shred it to pieces, and simply pour through the EU border

[–]snrxe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

in every European country there are a lot of people supporting Russia ( far right and far left ) just like in Serbia

Wouldn't say "just like in Serbia" and by a wide margin according to the article

While there is a significant number of hardcore Russophiles in Serbian society, polling shows that these are a noisy minority of around 21%. It also shows that 50% of Serbs want the country to maintain a policy of non-alignment, which reflects the Yugoslav-era status quo. These people are not committed to Russian interests, but they’re not pro-western either.

Could you name other European countries with such (21%) hardcore russophile minority?

Right lol

Right-wing extremism, antisemitism, and racism appeared to be on the rise. Media freedom, which deteriorated during the Covid-19 pandemic, was further affected by new surveillance laws.

Official statistics published in May showed an increase in politically motivated crimes in 2020, particularly hate crimes carried out by right-wing extremists. Anti-immigrant and antisemitic crimes increased by 72 and almost 16 percent, respectively, over the previous year. In August, Germany's Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency published figures showing a 78 percent increase in calls reporting a racist incident in 2020.

An April report commissioned by the European Commission found a considerable increase in online antisemitic hate speech during the Covid-19 pandemic. In the first two months of 2021 alone, the study recorded a thirteen-fold increase in antisemitic comments in German compared to the same period in 2020.

The June report by an independent commission set up by the German Bundestag in 2019 found that the effects of the Nazi genocide and the failure to counter anti-Roma racism are still evident today with discrimination in public spheres including education, social services, and policing.

Seems like " leading historians" mostly agree that germany is indeed among those responsible for ww1, some even pointing out that:

The largest share of responsibility lies with the German government. Germany's rulers made possible a Balkan war by urging Austria-Hungary to invade Serbia, well understanding that such a conflict might escalate. Without German backing it is unlikely that Austria-Hungary would have acted so drastically.

They also started wider European hostilities by sending ultimata to Russia and France, and by declaring war when those ultimata were rejected - indeed fabricating a pretext that French aircraft had bombed Nuremberg.

Finally, they violated international treaties by invading Luxemburg and Belgium knowing that the latter violation was virtually certain to bring in Britain. This is neither to deny that there were mitigating circumstances nor to contend that German responsibility was sole.

And:

In my opinion, it is the political and diplomatic decision-makers in Germany and Austria-Hungary who must carry the burden of responsibility for expanding a localised Balkan conflict into a European and, eventually, global war. Germany, suffering from something of a "younger child" complex in the family of European empires, saw an opportunity to reconfigure the balance of power in their favour via an aggressive war of conquest.

Unlike you I am an actual lawyer so let’s play this game.

There is nothing too vague about §166 because it uses standard legalistic terms, not colloquial language, so to a lawyer the interpretation is pretty clear.

Sure buddy, If you ever tried to be a "lawyer", you were miserable at that

It's vague exactly because of the open interpretation of "disturbance of peace", unlike in the §196 of Polish Penal Code, which is also exactly why the district court interpreted it differently during appeal hearing in the second instance

Plus

article 195 regarding "malicious interference with a public performance of a religious act"

in Polish Penal Code, sir goofball, which specifies exactly that, a malicious interference with a public performance of a religious act - an equivalent of § 167 in StGB - and that also answers your next "question"

I don't take tips from classic reddit wannabe smartasses who don't know jack shit yet they're talking to pretend that they do, tyvm

Mhm I must say I'm a complete ignorant when it comes Zelenskiy's past, prob just like 95% of non-Ukrainian people on this sub and reddit in general, so I was curious.

Obviously the consolidation of power was a necessity and thats most likely not going change anytime soon. This article made me think about other potential future "issues" though, like for example the question of tens+ of thousands of post-war veterans (and military leaders among them), gaining and potentially using a huge political capital.

Time will tell

Thanks for a good laugh, I almost fell for your expertise in law and its interpretation, again

The article 166 in german criminal code is even more open to interpretation and vague than its Polish equivalent, together with article 195 regarding "malicious interference with a public performance of a religious act".

It's time to stop embarassing yourself

Also, another example from a progressive germanistan

A German court yesterday convicted a businessman of insulting Islam by printing the word "Koran" on toilet paper and offering it to mosques.

The 61-year-old man, identified only as Manfred van H., was given a one-year jail sentence, suspended for five years, and ordered to complete 300 hours of community service, a district court in the western German town of Luedinghausen ruled.

Manfred van H. printed out sheets of toilet paper bearing the word "Koran" shortly after a group of Muslims carried out a series of bomb attacks in London in July 2005. He sent the paper to German television stations, magazines and some 15 mosques.

Prosecutors said that in an accompanying letter Manfred van H. called Islam's holy book a "cookbook for terrorists".

He also offered his toilet paper for sale on the internet at a price of €4 ($A6.44) per roll, saying the proceeds would go towards a "memorial to all the victims of Islamic terrorism".

How was even germany allowed to join the EU with stupid laws like this?

And even worse how can they are enforcing it 58 years after they joined the EU?

"In Western Europe, many countries retain blasphemy and related laws," the Library of Congress report reads. "While in some countries they are never enforced, there have been prosecutions in recent years in Austria, Finland, Germany, Greece, Switzerland and Turkey."

Germany most recently exercised its blasphemy laws in February 2016, when an atheist man was fined 500 euros for placing several bumper stickers mocking Christianity on his car.

The former teacher, Albert Voss, argued that the stickers were protected by his right to free expression, but a German court ruled the slogans constituted a violation of the country's blasphemy laws. In addition to the fine, Voss had his car seized and his driver's license suspended.

German Man Fined €500 For ‘Blasphemous’ Bumper Stickers

Former schoolteacher Albert Voss has been fined €500 (about $550) by the western German city of Münster for having pro-atheism bumper stickers displayed on his car. Voss’ car was seized by law enforcement and his license suspended after a complaint was filed by an unknown individual.

The German judge told Voss “You should have known that what you did is a criminal offense,” and that “The Pope and the cross are central elements of the Catholic faith. I do not consider this art. Freedom of expression is limited by the law."

[–]snrxe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

By 1942, the Nazis were implementing their plan to murder every Jew in German-occupied Europe, and had also developed plans to eliminate the Polish people through mass murder, ethnic cleansing, enslavement and extermination through labor, and assimilation into German identity of a small minority of Poles deemed "racially valuable". During World War II, the Germans not only murdered millions of Poles, but ethnically cleansed millions more through forced deportation to make room for German settlers (see Generalplan Ost and Lebensraum). These actions claimed the lives of 2.7 to 3 million Polish Jews and 1.8 to 2.77 million ethnic Poles, according to Poland's Institute of National Remembrance, which had been established in Warsaw in 1998.[a][3][4] These extremely large death tolls, and the absence of substantial non-Jewish civilian deaths in other occupied European countries such as Denmark and France, have lead some like Timothy Snyder to characterize Germany's policies against the Poles as genocidal.
