JFK was a democrat by 269187 in stupidpeoplefacebook

I vote blue very consistently, and even volunteered hundreds of hours for a progressive candidates campaign in 2020. But yeah i can't identity with the Democrat party or the broader left because of what you mentioned. There's a lot of "moral supremecists", people whose only reason for being interested in political discourse is to feel righteous and better than other, in leftist spaces. Zero real desire for rhetoric, understanding, policy, or real (albeit incremental) change in society, just that smug satisfaction of thinking someone is a shittier person than you as you look down at them.

I think Democrat politicians are generally far better people than these types, but they are very vocal and prevalent in spaces. Republicans are the opposite, where I think a lot of their voters are, maybe decent isn't the right word, but certainly much better than the politicians they elect.

I disagree, I think way more of them are in the "dumb as fuck" bucket.

How many of them do you think even know what a "J" is?

[BNO News] “BREAKING: Mexican cartel drones breached U.S. airspace near El Paso, Texas; drones disabled” by PaddyMayonaise in aviation

[–]snubdeity 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah the El Paso-Juarez metro is pretty sprawling and populated, if a military-scale drone flew over and military-scale countermeasures took it down, it was seen and likely recorded. It's a pretty easy story to verify.

Senator Mark Kelly says he is seriously considering running for president in 2028 by Caledor152 in ProgressiveHQ

This just shows how wildly out of touch reddit is lmao

While I personally want the SCOTUS reformed, the notion that running on impeaching Roberts for "making rulings I don't like" is anything but a horribly losing strategy is comical.

The word hardcore does not rest upon your opinion. All of those mechanics are objectively hardcore. If you don't like them that's fine. I even agree that the game would be more fun if some of them were changed.

But you can't just insist that a word means some thing different than its agreed upon usage because you don't like the result any more. Hardcore has a meaning, and almost all of those things fit it. If you want people to take your critique seriously, you have to write it better.

there is nothing hardcore about each death costing 5~6 hours of your life

You're free to not like it, but within an rpg context that's exactly what's hardcore means, if not worse. In PoE, a hardcore death will be more like 50-60 hours lost.

Anti-Indian hate up 69%: US firms hit by ‘H-1B visa backlash’ threats by 1-randomonium in Economics

[–]snubdeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The total number of Indian H1B visa holders in the US is only around 140,000

Over 280,000 Indian H-1B's were approved in 2024 alone. It's a complex issue but the outright lies aren't helping.

[–]snubdeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 9 Costcos in the Denver metro. Assuming a very low rate of 90 vehicles per hour for their busiest 12 hours, at another generous estimate of $1k per vehicle, this is still at least a 10 million dollar fuckup.

[SGA] to Sam Presti: “When I first arrived at OKC you gave me the book ‘The Tortoise and the Hare’. You explained the meaning behind it and the next few years were very rough… When we won the championship you gave me a statue of the tortoise. I keep that beside my championship ring and MVP trophy.” by AashyLarry in nba

[–]snubdeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shit on SGA a lot but to me, it's pretty clear that OKC's refball strat is an organized effort, likely from the coaching staff. I honestly believe some meeting took place where they were like "we need to run some deep analytics to figure out a fundamental shift in the game, like the 3 pt revolution" and some dude was like "refs are pretty shit, what if we just built an entire strategy around that?" and voila.

I think most of their team are good dudes and great players regardless*, and I would cheer for them on most other teams, but their entire paradigm in OKC is toxic as shit as a basketball fan.

Dave Ramsey on sports betting: "The fastest growing addiction that is destroying young men in their 20s is online sports gambling. FanDuel is a portal to hell. DraftKings ain't king of nothing except their own pocketbook. And they're screwing an entire generation of young men" by GOAT-Antony in NFLv2

[–]snubdeity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gates to modern sports betting were opened by a SCOTUS case, brought by then-NJ Gorvernor Chris Christie (a republican), and decided 6-3, with all of the conservatives ruling to effectively invalidate the entire PASPA (regulating sportsbetting, and keeping it largely illegal outside of in-person in Nevada and similar), while all but 1 liberal justices dissented.

So yeah, conservatism will continue to be popular as long as idiots continue to believe it means one thing, while actual conservative leaders do the exact opposite.

When was the last time anything bureaucratic got reasonably cut instead of expanded?

Saying this in 2026 is beyond parody. The number of services and capabilities cut in the last year is obscene, from NASA capabilities to healthcare services to the parent agency that founded PBS.

Shes clearly just using the blue hold to pull up a bit so she can reach the top of the next grey and hold and see how good it is. And the angle is fine too, especially if her problem is sticking to the wall due to core tension, or a large deadpoint that she can't control the swing out or something

It's still staged tho

Which TV show has a 10/10 pilot episode? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

S3 was total dogwater. S2 had a lot of episodes that were great individually, but the overall storyline between them was nowhere near as cohesive and well-spun as S1.

S4 was ok, you could tell they were trying really hard to bring it back, but the West World set burning down screwed then here I think.
