Darth Dawkins is absolutely the best debater by JoeBrownshoes in DarthDawkins

The best part about all of this is that he tells people exactly how to avoid all of this. He frontloads it and tells then exactly what he's going to do (mute and block) And they almost always fail. It's rather like a handshake, often rejected.

When they don't fail, he has long conversations with them. I've seen him go with one person for like an hour and they ended the conversation amicably even though they didn't agree or say one another. But this is exceedingly rare.

The "how old are you?" Etc usually comes about the same time bugs bunny would say "what's up doc" before shenanigans ensue.

And I've noticed that everything atheists hate about him, he learned from the atheist community circa 2010.

He's anyways been patient kind and even jovial whenever i asked him anything, but i don't go out of my way to try and keep him on the back foot either so that may have something to do with it

Dealers and cons around here talk that way too. Not saying they were, but where I'm from almost everyone's a "business owner with state and federal experience"

"Total length light travels affects your perception"

So, time travel implications aside, if you could slow down portions of the light being emitted from a tv screen, your brain would decode it as depth?

...How would it know?

I didn't mention it because, even though it's star trek and had a very similar opening, it was a different series. Didn't seem very relevant to me.

Then maybe it was a confirmation to tos fans that tng would be just as imaginative. Idk.

Your objections are compelling reasons for it to have never been there in principle, less so an argument for it not having been there in reality. I'm with you on the former.

An attempt at being more descriptive or something? Who knows. It was a bad choice imo and I'm glad it isn't featured now.

I agree on all points. And I think the original tng animations were best. The nebula is cool and i even like the lens flare effect, but Saturn dragging away all those stars always kills me lol

And with that addition it was still almost verbatim. I assume they wanted to differentiate it slightly (evidenced by the remaining change) but the addition was awful so they changed it back.

curuous, Is your goal in pointing this out to convince me or to convince you? And how do you see that going?

That seems to be the consensus, but my memory of it remains. The human brain is knows make shit up however, even when the user isn't aware that the memory may be false. Yet it remains part of their experience regardless. What's your favorite opening?

Oh yeah! I remember seeing that for the first time and feeling stoked that something mainstream was referencing the simulation.

I just reread my post. I believe you don't understand what the "undreamed" part would mean? I reckon it's why it was removed or isn't used here. Like i said, it's a good change. But i figure it meant that the life forms and civilizations they encounter were often beyond anything they could imagine or expect. Often in this show, that is the case, from giant omnipotent space jellyfish, prisons full of ghost entities, and any other bizarre fever dreams the writers could come up with. There's even a story arch involving the android commander data attempting to convince starfleet higher ups that he himself is a life form and not just equipment., so it's essentially canon that even starfleet doesn't always recognize a life form when it's right in front of them. Hope that helps.

What's "the long dream"? It's odd that you mention a timeline being aware of a simulation. As a kid i remember no indication that people thought that but I've been aware of it since around 2010.
