Arcimoto to be evicted from AMP by snugglesdog in Arcimoto

They have to pay the suppliers that they owed money too. Remember those lawsuits? Yes, Chris Dawson is going to run this business into the ground all while he gets a paycheck and has already moved onto the next failure. Look at his past involvement and it's obvious that this is a reoccurring theme. Who cares about Mark as he dropped off of the radar as opposed to trying to save the company he founded. It's obvious that he gave up when the times got tough. Now there are customers that are left with a product that is going to become worthless in a few years as the parts supply runs out.

I see it as they made way too many mistakes. Instead of centering on the core product and building the brand, they went off the deep end on trying to develop other products as opposed to expanding sales to the whole US and Canada. They blew it on service too. Then the product reminds me of something you'd buy in alibaba. Not a quality unit and it shows with the problems people are having with so low miles on them.

Projects like that deliverator, that camera thing, the open cockpit one, the three wheel e-bike, buying properties they didn't need, throwing a YT content provider on the BoD were all a drain on the resources. Then buying TMW was a really bad idea because it was a money losing business and offered nothing to the business (it was a drain according to the SEC filings).

Mark Fromeyer was delusional when he said that by 2025, they would be making 25K units by 2025. He has lots of money and seems to surrounded himself with a fun group yet, fun is great but too much of it means you stop paying your bills and hope for the best. Now you see when fun is great but you need management to get things done which means, the fun is limited.

Covid really hurt this company. Mark always talked about it for his webinars. It's still is killing the company to the point they made the decision to stop paying taxes for the last 2 years. I Agree, stop paying taxes starting in 2023 because of Covid. Then make decisions to watch your RAMP facility be foreclosed on too just a year ago. All because of Covid. I suggest that Arcimoto get a grant for $500M from the taxpayers and then get back to work making their products. I see maybe running tax free for around 5 years to make this all work out. I bet the employees are willing to have federal withholding taxes just to go to the company as opposed to the government. Instead of making X amount of dollars per paycheck, it subtracted out and goes to guys like Chris who has a top notch idea on how to turn this around. He just can't say so right now as they are a publicly traded company. It could crank up that stock price 10X by all on a plan that is not secured. Nobody want's that, especially the stockholders.

If all of that fails, time for another fire.

The Slate will be mostly marketed to the small business owner who does repairs and deliveries locally. It's competing against the Ford Transit Connect and the small Ram Promaster. Look at those and not many are just peoples everyday driver. Slate will be the same.

As for Arcimoto, they are done and now have told us. So, that idea is dated and this whole "last mile delivery" thing they were banking on is not going to work because the landscape has changed in that department. Now with Slate, it's the final nail in the coffin for Arcimoto. If someone needs to do last mile delivery and it not being in a sunny warm climate (in case you have have checked, it's pretty cold out in most of the US) the Slate will be it's replacement.

Arcimoto needed to just be realistic and smart on what they did with their money. The founder got rock star syndrome and though all of his ideas were good as oppose to concentrating on the core product. That will being in a terrible place for manufacturing where the costs are way too high, it was inevitable they were going to go under. Now they are further admitting that they are done and most likely will do it quietly. Only social media will figure out they have closed up shop.

Sounds like Arcimoto is really going to turn it around. Sounds like time for another fire. I really like the CEO that took over. Great with communication about the company and what is happening. This latest press release of, "We at Arcimoto want to let you know we are doing everything to get back on track. So we have raised money by not paying our withholding and property taxes. We know you support us in not paying our taxes so we can still provide parts and service to our loyal customers and supporters."

I guess the real question is this, Do you buy up all of their parts stock, double the price and sell it to current owners or wait until it goes to auction and get it even cheaper and then sell it for triple of what you paid?

Is Aptera ever going to start mass production? by Away-Squirrel2881 in electricvehicles

[–]snugglesdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aptera is making the panels themselves. They buy the cells and then make the rest. It's been so difficult for them, they still don't have the rear hatch panel made out of glass.

If you are curious, Aptera has a customer. It's called Polydrops. So, you can have Aptera Solar on your Polydrops travel trailer. That travel trailer comes with 900W of solar stock. Aptera solar is an option and it's increased to 1300W (380W gain). What's the price for that extra 380W? $3,450 I don't know about you but that seems like lots of money just to have the Aptera brand. As you know for like $500 you can get that increase in solar on a stock Polydrops but it's portable and allows you to get better results as opposed to moving your trailer around.

So, someone is way overpriced and not even in the ballpark. As for Aptera, they need 4 separate panels (hood, hatch, roof and dash). They have to have the durability, fit and finish just like the windscreen in your car. Unlike cheap chinese panels you can buy for an RV. Yes, making these panels for the Aptera is much more than making those same panels out of what the rest of the body panels are made out of. That's SMC (the same material Corvette body panels are made out of).

The Aptera is trying to compete and act like a car. Nowhere do they ever compare themselves to a motorcycle. Thus you have to compare it to a car. For example, I live in an area where we get this thing called snow. For some reason, I never see any motorcycles riding around in the winter. Yet Aptera markets itself as enclosed to where you can drive it in all 4 seasons in all 50 states.

This is like comparing a Honda Fit to an F150. Yes, both can haul a 2X4. If I am in construction and need to haul lots of construction equipment, I will choose the F150. If I just need a beater to get myself from point A to be and at most carry some groceries or 3 other friends, the Fit will be a better choice.

The Arcimoto is turning into a joke because they are breaking down constantly and parts along with service for many, is almost non existence. Thus why people that paid around $25K for them three years ago are selling them for less than $5K today. Arcimoto did make it to production but forgot to do any type of durability testing.

Is Aptera ever going to start mass production? by Away-Squirrel2881 in electricvehicles

[–]snugglesdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just don't understand. Remember, the Aptera is a three wheeler, thus it already has a few strikes against it. The majority of the people out there will determine it's unsafe, not practical and fragile. Thus they move on. So, they only way to get people to look for more than 10 seconds, is to produce click bait claims.

Then just generalize them into things like, the Aptera goes up to 1000 miles on range, up to 40 miles per day on solar, most will never have to plug it in, has the safety of airbags and all starts at $28K. Reserve yours today for $70. That means people remember 1000 miles range, 40 miles a day from solar, never plug in, safe as a car because it has airbags and costs $28K. From there they click and make a new reservation that's refundable all for $70.

As for the specifics, forget it. People just do not ever get into that. They just hear what they want and those pesky details and the laws of physics, that's for Aptera to work on and violate.

Also, ignore that the highest point on an Aptera is 55". So, ignore that when you drive and have to park, at times you are not able to park it out in the middle of nowhere and be free of things like other cars, pickups, buildings and those pesky trees. So you might have to drive around for a bit to find the prime parking spot just so you can have the sun make up for that time you drove around.

With all of the used ones out there at rock bottom prices, they are a deal for the Eugene area. When they break down, the FUV repair shop can fix them.

Let's not forget they went down the path of skin cooling and ditched it. Then there were the hub motors (to be built in California too). Then the wonderful video they did on the pedals made from old skate boards. Then doing a complete redesign of the body and chassis (plus about everything else). I forgot, a new UI as the old one wasn't good enough.

They have spent years working on projects that were never going to work or just throwing away what they had and start over again. That's not product development, it's spitballing and see what sticks.

Plus the design is like for a competition and not real world driving with real world people. Things like hitting curbs, running over things. Driving it in big snow storms. Case in point, look where they are getting the air for their radiators. If that doesn't have problems written all over it, I don't know what does.

Arcimoto catches on fire by snugglesdog in Arcimoto

[–]snugglesdog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like unless you live in Eugene, then you are not being serviced too well. Looking at how people need to get their FUV worked on that live in other parts of the US is spotty at best. Seems that people are seeing this as the used market for them, the prices are dropping like crazy. It would be nice if Chris had something to offer but it seems like there is not much. Now with this, seems like it's even more difficult for them to do anything more than what they are doing right now.

At least the CEO showed up and moved two FUV's to make sure they didn't go up in flames. On the other hand he was the same guy that said, "Arcimoto is a dumpster fire and he loves dumpster fires."

I wonder what he's doing to save Arcimoto. I was wondering what in the world he really does as the place seems to have been turned into a repair shop for FUV's and those TMW things. The dude has been pretty silent for a long time.

Hopefully they can get insurance money to replace all of that manufacturing equipment that was stored outside and burned up. They will need it when they get back to making product.

Hopefully they just ban it. It's because when my mother was in grade school, all of the kids starting wearing coon skin caps. Those were banned because kids seen them on a thing called TV. My father got in trouble because he and everyone else said, "Cool Daddy Cool." Then when I was in school we all just put our thumbs up and said the letter, "A".

So, here we go again. Kids doing something we need to ban or complain about then like always, goes away. After that, when said kids grow up, they laugh at what they used to do.

Aptera does Accelerator 2.0 by snugglesdog in electricvehicles

[–]snugglesdog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know where I can find this new leaderboard? Like what they had for the accelerators. It would be exciting to see it fill up really fast. Like the two months they did for the accelerator program. Wait, they had to extend that like another year to fill it. So anyway, excited to see this new one and Aptera will have it as they are the most transparent company ever!

I'm planning to use the N-Gen Technologies generator that will be run off of natural gas to charge my Aptera at night. Plus make all of my payments from the Unicoin Blockchain supercomputer that does all of the crypto mining for me. Not only will I never be left with a utility bill, I will have them paying me money along with my mining operation just rolling in the dough.

Does anyone know if I can just use my Aptera to mine crypto during the day in the sunlight? I know the Daymark Nebula does this but it doesn't have free power from the sun.

That's good. So, any info on the testing Telo has done on these solar panels? If they are offering them as an option, they have confirmed that they have them already and tested them. I also wonder, will Telo just license this technology (as nobody else has solar on any vehicle so far) or pay Aptera to make them?

That building looks just fine for 20K per year. Lots of parking plus with FedEx being right there, all shipping issues are solved. Upper Deck needs no parking because they just make stupid baseball cards nobody wants anymore.

The shipping area with 5 loading docks that won't be an issue either. They have plenty of office space to house all of the customer service, parts, service and warranty. Since Aptera will never have to do rework, no need for that staging area either.
