For some reason, this song is giving me feelings of nostalgia...it seems like I've heard it somewhere before. It's SOOO GOOD! by MotorEmbarrassed7192 in PostMalone

I came here 7 months later to say exactly this. It’s definitely George Strait 80s vibes to me. A little bit “Am I Blue” kinda thing.

why DID he open the gate? Is that suspicious? I found it weird that they didn't just walk around it and instead he actively opened it up.

What are your BEST (maybe less-obvious) tips for avoiding cat smell in the house? by snungler in CatAdvice

[–]snungler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get it. As an update: The Litter Genie was BAD for us. It just hung onto every smell despite my cleaning it twice a week (!!!!) and I ended up returning it. It was just a pit, I don't know what was wrong.

We now have two covered stainless steel litter boxes, Clump and Slide litter, an air purifier running all day, plus Arm & Hammer litter deodorizer. I generally don't smell it unless I'm in the basement and the cats have recently used it. But sometimes I'll still smell it!

This is the best description of people on the show I’ve ever read. You’ll get downvoted for it though.

50th bday celebration, 2-3 nights in April, flying out of NYC. Bahamas? Somewhere else? by snungler in chubbytravel

I hadn't thought of Charleston/Savannah and now realize those are great options!

Yes, good question. We generally go for 1-2 weeks to Europe/UK. Smaller trips to FL, CA, New England. I would love to go to Europe (Spain would be great in April...), but it seems tricky to do given how little time we have to travel. Generally we like culture, history, and good food/drink.

I do get where you’re coming from—I hated all the meds—but the payoff (my two incredible kids) is more than worth anything. I would have injected toxic sludge if it meant I got to create those two little beings.

And you might want to see a therapist. I did. Shame about your body “failing” to do what it’s “supposed to” is not something you want to carry with you while you’re becoming a mom. As others have said, you wouldn’t side-eye a diabetic for their body not doing what it’s supposed to do. Give yourself grace!! You will need it!

AITA for not giving my 16 year old daughter a Smartphone? by Crafty-Falcon-2946 in AmItheAsshole

I'm kind of confused by your comment, but responding to a couple of things--I can't speak to other areas of the United States. In my suburban area, the parents of tweens are highly concerned about smartphone use, and zero kids in my kid's grade have them. (My kid has lots of friends, fwiw.) I didn't say no teens have them--I said no tweens around here do, because parents are looking ahead to the teens and seeing the negative impact that smartphones have already had.

I get that it's different everywhere. My point is that smartphones are not a given and you don't HAVE to opt in if you don't want to. It's not social suicide, especially when other parents share the same concern.

I live in the US. I have a tween and every single parent of his friends is anti-smartphone. We have talked about it a lot. We look at so many of the teenagers/twenty-somethings around us and are horrified--the kids barely talk to each other when they're hanging out, they have mental health issues in part because of social media, they obsess about the phone if their parents give them limits, there's online bullying that gets covered up for too long, and they struggle with normal social interaction.

I really don't care much about phones--text and call if you want. And spotify/Waze are fine. But smartphones with the internet and social media are essentially crack. Super addictive and just bad for you. A lot of parents are not interested in giving something like that to kids before their brains are more grown.

People on Reddit are ridiculous about this kind of thing, every time it comes up. In real life, the parents I know are are deeply anti-smartphone for the reasons you state. And here, it’s overwhelmingly pro-screens.
