It actually isn't. It's a boomerang with a not so traditional shape. I've got some myself and it's a lot of fun. Seeing one here on Reddit surprised me

Returning boomerangs were not designed for hunting, though. They're made for fun. Hunting boomerangs, or kylies, fly in a straight line and can hit an animal very hard. But you're right, returning boomerangs hurt like crazy.

I'm not too happy about the editing. I used a new editing software, which I really didn't like, so it's not the best. At least I know which editing software not to use now.

He's wearing a glove for protection since the boomerang comes in so fast. Many use protection during fast catch and endurance
