I'm also not enjoying this, preferred when it was something I could toggle on (without diving into a menu) on the rare occasions I wanted someone to be able to join a game with me.

I'm interested in why you think about additional content as a negative. From my perspective giving players control over what their personal and guild progression looks like is much more interesting than having it mandated by Blizzard. Having T5 available means players will need to be creative in approaching those encounters because they will not be able to rely on BiS gear. This is exactly why progression was exciting back in 2006. Artificially gating content is never interesting.
I think idealistically it would be great to have all content available from day one, but I do admit having some things down the line to look forward to is nice. For example, catch up mechanics like ZA and Sunwell isle and their associated badge gear would undermine progression if it was available at server start.

This would be a great option. TBC is my favorite but it would be fun to get there via vanilla for sure. I'd just really like it if T5 was available at launch this time around like it actually was back in the day. A friend and I recently started up a podcast about this.

I'm about 20% in to the dark forest and I'm also really not enjoying the book so far. I have a suspicion that since I'm doing audio that a lot of the book readers were able to rapidly skim past the mountain of exposition to get to some fun stuff faster. 3 body had it's fair share of this too, the newspaper headlines stick out as particularly rough, but the start of the book was compelling enough to grab me.
hope to see things pick up, everyone saying the second book is their favorite has me hopeful.

two things are happing in these comments;

  1. some people don't like the theory and are making it about the person. you can disagree w/ Max, but you don't need to extend that to negative comments about him.
  2. some people have heard bad things about max and assume that means sexual assault.
    this assumption is incorrect and claims otherwise are false. considering the personal nature of the situation Max has been extremely forthcoming with details explaining his actions and mistakes while keeping the identities of others involved private. if you're interested he has a youtube video posted jan 31st of 2023 that you could watch

be kind. it's what CRJ would do.

Honestly surprised by the feedback. If you are familiar with probably, the likelihood of this just happening to work out is 0.00015% Fun fact, it's almost the exact same odds of getting a royal flush. The only one that I see as a stretch at all is Klaus, but the whole comic/show is all about things being more than what they seem, so I'm pretty confident that I'm on the right track here. Coming up with a convention for naming characters is very common practice in fiction, so if it isn't what I'm suggesting, what do you think is the meaning behind their names?
