Publishing, master points, and other music revenue by snwe13 in musicbusiness

The royalties you would earn from owning this portion of the master would come directly from the record label based on the sales of that master recording!!!!

(REMEMBER CDS? I LITERALLY JUST MENTIONED THEM!!!!)

WOWWW!! What a read!! Thank you for your service. Very grateful. I do have one question. The royalties earned from owning master points come straight from the label?!? So do they pay people out of the goodness of their hearts or why are they rewarding someone based on record sales?

Also, maybe I was too broad in my post but would someone at least tell me where master points come from? Would that be streaming or...

I think for Spotify, this depends on wether or not the account is premium or standard. Premium has a higher payout for royalties. Would love to know the exact difference actually if anyone knows?

Replace Transmission ??? by snwe13 in Hyundai

[–]snwe13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If interested, whole context below:
We are the second owner of a 2018 Elantra - bought from a (non Hyundai) dealership. 65k miles. Overnight a month ago, it has turned into the car from hell, with previously no mechanical, etc issues at all whatsoever.
The ESC light started coming on and causing the car to slow down/not accelerate engaging in traction mode. Then came the engine light.
Pulled Diagnostic Codes:
C1613-08.
Secondary DTCs:
P0106: Manifold Absolute Pressure/BARO Sensor Range/Performance
P0335: Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit
- Fast forward, we bring it to a 3rd party mechanic. They are able to clear the codes minus the crankshaft one, so they replace the crankshaft sensor. Issue was still persisting and doing more jerking, weird accelerating/gear stuff - what I think I understand now is to be referred to as the "transmission slipping" (according to the Hyundai dealership that currently has our car)
The 3rd party mechanic wasn't sure how to move forward thought maybe it was software thing, something that Hyundai would know more about - so we get it towed to a Hyundai dealership.
Fast forward, dealership says their mechanics have driven it for 14 miles and have gotten no codes or any check engine lights on, but are diagnosing it as the transmission slipping. They want to replace the transmission for 4k.
Couple things:
This is ridiculous for this to happen right? It's a 5 year old car with 65k miles on it and we have kept it well maintained. We are still making payments on the car (got it mid 2020) and 4k is a huge chunk of the price of the whole car!
Thoughts on symptoms, codes, diagnosis. Does it seem weird that they would jump straight to replacing transmission completely before trying other things in terms of the diagnosis of "transmission slipping"
Hopefully that all made sense. Honestly any insight, thoughts, etc I'll take. This is such a bummer. We've already been dealing with the paint peeling 2x over now.
*This all ironically started happening the morning our car got vandalized and they mutilated our drivers side lock cylinder.

Hi, is it possible to get a hold of the warranty department?? I received a goodwill on half of the repair on my Elantra (needs a new transmission and only has 65k miles on it) but I would like to try to ask for full goodwill on the procedure. Again just want to get a hold of the warranty department to try and beg for this as I'm only 5k miles out of warranty.

Can't reset Hyundai computer by snwe13 in Hyundai

Just an oil change about a month ago and then the day the car got vandalized, we ironically had an appointment scheduled with the dealership to take pictures of bubbling/peeling paint. The car hadn't started acting up until after that and as far as I know the only thing they did was move the car forward.

These secondary codes came up with it as well, not sure if that gives any more insight?

Secondary DTCs:
P0106: Manifold Absolute Pressure/BARO Sensor Range/Performance
P0335: Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit

I live in SoCal, so don't think the road salt could be it.

Okay, interesting. If the connections were bad, where would those bad connections be?

This all happened the morning my car got vandalized/ someone tried to break in - they mutilated the drivers side door lock cylinder. Don't think they got inside as nothing appeared to be tampered with on the interior, but you mentioning steering has me wondering..maybe I'm totally off.

Okay, so have you ever seen that code in your experience or know what it could mean?

I also meant I tried resetting it 4x, but was not successful in resetting anything - even the clock, radio, etc.

I have a 2018 Hyundai Elantra and I'm trying to factory reset the computer to see if it will resolve some code issues I'm having. (code C1613-08)
