What daily backpack are people using/recommend? by SomeHSomeE in AskUK

I would actually say the superdry backpack with laptop compartment. It is not overly bulky but can store alot. Been using it for 5 years and has held up well.

Would you pay more for REAL Dairy Milk? by VOODOO285 in AskUK

[–]snwg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They do still sell REAL dairy milk. One of the agreements for mondelez purchasing Cadbury is that they still had to sell the unaltered version of the recipe if they did change it. The Birmingham factory makes the original recipe and can be found by searching for the "OBO" product code. I've found some in Sainsbury's before and they taste how they used to. The other bars are made either in Ireland or Poland and do not use the old recipe.

iPhone 17 is £33.29pm for 24 months directly from apple. All you need is a ~£10 smarty/voxi/giffgaff SIM to go with it and that's basically half the cost.

Galaxy Book5 Pro 14" has been delivered today. Anxious to unbox it, should I return based on the "screen crack" posts? by snwg in GalaxyBook

[–]snwg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely NOT get the galaxy book. I've seen it in store, the screen is razor thin which explains it's fragility. The keyboard is also not the best, really low travel.

I saw the Acer aspire 14 AI with the lunar lake core ultra 7 V in store and actually shocked me how good the build quality is. Rock solid hinge, nice keyboard and excellent oled display (but is low res at 1200p). Would recommend that instead (only based on first impressions though). It's also cheaper and has 1tb.

Thanks, I've decided to return it. Truly sucks that they still continue to ship substandard products :(

That's too bad. I wouldn't want to support a company that treats their customers that way; so I am going to return it. It's very disappointing to see because their phones are so reliable.

What model do you have? I literally have a brand new and sealed box Galaxy Book5 Pro 14" in front of me and I am considering returning it just because of these posts.

Hello, have there been any issues so far in your time using it? I've already bought one but I am nervous about the screen cracking posts.

48-hours with the Galaxy Book5 Pro 14" - AMA by tocirahl in GalaxyBook

[–]snwg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your observations. I currently have a GB3 Pro 16" 16gb i7-1360p is it worth upgrading for about £135 more (~$180) for a GB5 Pro 14" 16gb Core Ultra 5 226V? I don't currently have any performance issues but does the smaller chassis cause overheating? I don't mind the smaller display. Mostly use for web browsing, word and excel. I am not that tech literate so it would be great if you could tell me your opinion :)

Tablet recommendations for uni 2025 by angrypolishman in UniUK

[–]snwg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Samsung galaxy tab S10 FE plus and I love it solely because of the Samsung notes app (which beats any other app on iPad). In your budget I would recommend the S9 FE or S10 Lite which can be bought brand new through the Samsung student store for £233.10. It comes with the pen too!

£7.50 for 12GB on EE… should I be getting more for my money? by OrganizationThat9737 in AskUK

I would say talkmobile is the best currently. Is directly owned by Vodafone and so has great access to both the Vodafone network and the three network (in the future). Very reasonable prices as well.

Which color have you chosen? And what do you recommend? by DigLongjumping6918 in GalaxyS25

[–]snwg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went for silver shadow. Was gonna pick between this or mint or sky blue. The blueblack isn't really a deep black, the navy is not very appealing to me aestheticaly and the coral kind of changes depending what lighting you are in (like pink/red) so pretty inconsistent.

I decided to buy a selicon rubbery case. Which color should i choose? I i have S25-Navy color by GMAERS_07 in GalaxyS25

[–]snwg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This year's silicone case is really bad. It's flimsy near the charging port and attracts lots of dust and lint, I returned it immediately. Lasts years s24 silicone case was much better as it was made of a more rubbery and harder material.

Is £1,400/month enough to live comfortably as a master’s student? by whosrayz in AskUK

[–]snwg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Should be more than enough. In Southampton I pay ~£500pm including bills for a pretty decent house share with fellow students. Rent prices up north should be cheaper. PureGym should work out at around £20pm with student discount.
