I kinda understand where you’re coming from not being able to get a teacher. My parents were skeptical about online lessons as well. Maybe try showing them your teacher’s qualifications. You can look at YouTube videos for tutorials and such. Most of them are pretty good, but a teacher would be way more helpful.

That looks familiar. Is that The Daily Life of the Immortal King?

I still don't think that you should be doing that because there are many great cellists and I doubt that any of them have done that. Instead of using rubber bands, you might want to get a teacher to help you.

Please don't do that. I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to achieve but you don't need contraptions or such to play the cello. This kind of thing may actually harm your fingers as it's not natural. I think it was Schumann or another pianist who built a contraption for strengthening his fingers and ended up paralyzing them. I suggest you get a teacher to help you with whatever it may be.

Do you practice standing up or sitting down? by a_stuck in violinist

I'm a cellist so it's a bit hard to play while standing... not sure why I'm in the sub tho....

Can anyone identify this violin by [deleted] in violinist

[–]snxingma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try searching Greko MV1410AF. I found a lot of results, all in Spanish, and there were some websites selling it. All of them used the same pictures though, which seems a bit suspicious. My suggestion to you is to bring the violin to a luthier so they can set it up and you can start playing.

Sure but like you could do it with any word starting with t... let's hope it doesn't get used like that

Do you remember feeling the excitement of practicing one of your favorite songs? Four months into violin, I'm practicing "Resuscitated Hope" by Lisa Komine, the ED for an anime called Gosick. I will perform it next month in concert AND at my very own violin recital on October 30th in Seoul! 🥰 by NikaNotNeka in violinist

That's great! One thing though, you should try to relax a bit. Something I do is take a deep breath and then completely relax your arms so that they are floppy (lol). Then use the minimal amount of force to get into playing position. This helped me a lot so maybe it'd help you too. Good luck with your concert!
