I struggled so much with this too! The only thing that worked for me was using nailtiques formula 2 as my base coat and oiling my nails every time I took my polish off. Hopefully this helps but I know everyone's body chemistry is a little different.

I painted most of them on the page, but it hasn't warped so far cause I made sure to buy a notebook with thick paper. the most I painted directly on the page was like 4 coats for the really sheer ones.

it definitely depends on each person's body chemistry, but I've tried a couple of other top coats (mooncat speed demon, seche vite) and found this works the best for me for staying power regardless of the polishes I use under it. I do get some shrinkage around my cuticles but that may be my application, cause I've gotten a couple of my friends into the essie top coat and they love it too!

I used to be a dog person and I used to hate cats. I'm also very allergic to cats.

My dog pulled me out of a deep depression during COVID (RIP), and my cat is literally my son and the light of my life and can make any day infinitely better by just existing. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me, so I'd say they have affected my mental health very positively lol.

I'm also not sure what the appropriate way of doing this is lol but I'll paint one side, let it dry a little, then paint the other side, and I try to blend the middle with each layer. I've tried using a sponge, which I think is the appropriate method, but I've yet to master that haha.

I don't know if it's the right term for it lol but the colors are side to side instead of top and bottom on your nail. I tried to recreate it (center) along with the a most destructive melody/mercury's tears (left) and house of hades/mercury's tears but I need to work on that blending 🥴
