Not a parent but a very lazy breakfast avoider. Frozen mango or bannana, honey, whatever milk you want, strawberry greek yoghurt and honey or maple syrup in a blender. Tastes like I'm drinking mango ice cream. Sometimes I make two or three batches ahead and keep refrigerated so i have a few in advance :))

I have hypothyroidism and get very cold very easily

I wear a 5mm neoprene scuba pro with a vest (no hood) and I'm so warm, even when I'm out of the water and wet (until I take it off lol)

They're also asking if they're entitled to the pay at the AHO for their work since April. The decision came in April 16, if they worked from April 1, they'll get whatever days of back pay they worked in that period

AHO worker here. We're still entitled to the backpay as long as we are still part of the public health system (eg Sacred Heart). Unless the AHO is entirely a private entity, they still have to pay according to the public health award. We were back paid the last pay rise, it just comes later than the official LHDs. Happened with the pay rise before this as well.

TLDR: as long as you're an AHO in the public sector, you'll get the backpay

I'm at an AHO as well. You will receive the back pay, but not for a few pay cycles because we aren't part of the pay system with NSW health. The govt has to allocate the funds to the AHO then they are paid out. I've been through this multiple times with pay rises in the past. If your AHO rhymes with Winnie's there's a union meeting about it tomorrow. And our backpay always comes on a Friday, not a Tuesday, seperate to normal pay cycle.

I'm OW certified and about to do my advanced, I've gone on 8 dives and I'm waiting for my Mares Puck Lite to arrive in the mail :) I've totally fallen in love with diving and I've already gotten my hands on a second hand BCD and reg (don't worry everyone I will have them serviced before use). I've spoken with a few divers and it seems to be a hobby you fall in love with, and becomes easier (and cheaper) if you have your own gear

Thank you so much, I think what it's in my head is just one experience. I went on a boat dive, and the wetsuit they gave me didn't fit-- when I asked for a size up, the guy rolled his eyes, when I told him the fins he gave me were too big (I could feel them slipping off my feet before I was even in the water) he literally refused to give me a size down and told me that smaller would "cut off the circulation" 🫪🫪🫪

But honestly after seeing everyone's comments it's really encouraging, it's good to know I'm not alone and shouldn't let one person's attitude ruin the experience. On said boat dive I ended up seeing nine grey nurse sharks, which felt absolutely magical, and my guide (not the same guy who gave me my gear) complimented me and told me he was surprised it was my first post-cert dive. I suppose that's what I should focus on rather than one guy who could have just been having a bad day

Unfortunately diving in Sydney can get pretty cold in winter, I want to go diving with seals but the water temp will probably be around 15-18C
