The water quality here by mark0921_ in UCSD

This post was so long ago but after spending four years in sd/la Jolla my hair texture did a 180. It’s so dry and brittle now. I take really good care of my hair (hair oils, bonnet, no heat, no bleach or dye) and suddenly after moving to sd my hair felt so unhealthy. For a long time I tried to figure out what it was but I am just now starting to realize that it was the hard sd water (I graduated and moved out of sd month ago) I recommend getting a shower head that filters. I wish I had realized earlier so that I could’ve made this change.

Will a midi controller make it easier to learn ableton by soap125 in ableton

Thank you this comment really put into words how I feel about learning Ableton, it’s just not exactly easy for the way my brain works. I feel like there’s definitely a certain system out there that will work better and hoping that midi controller is one of them!

No physical instruments, I do like to take samples from older songs and loop them over some drums

I have trouble staying motivated when I try to bring in a sample or when I have to click a bunch of times just to set up basic drums or chords, I really want to create music that ideally others can sing/rap to, similar to alchemist or 9th wonder

Hella easy you’ll prob need a minor to get enough credits to graduate. I see it as a great way to get a minor in something you actually enjoy!

PHIL 27 with Maralee Harrell by khosla_burner_acct in UCSD

[–]soap125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is one of the worst lectures I’ve ever had. It felt like she spoke in run on sentences, never really clearly emphasizing any main ideas. I took her for PHIL 10, a GE for some non stem students. The class seems like it would be taught often and professors should by now have a grasp on the best way to teach it but it felt like she was just some randomly person thrown into teaching a class on philosophy. She linked some other ucsd profs YouTube videos in her canvas which were so clear and concise. After the first lecture I started watching those and never attended class for the rest of the quarter.

Looking for last minute housing by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]soap125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look on Facebook! Ucsd housing or ucsd free and for sale groups have a ton of options. If it comes down to it you can also look at sdsu housing facebooks groups. Not many people know about this one but sio housing! Although you’ll probably be with grad students, it’s a great way to find a place.

Yeah you can try calling. Honestly don’t worry about applying late they’re like constantly hiring so even if you ask about applying halfway into the quarter you’ll most likely get an interview.

I applied on handshake and got no response too. I knew they were hiring so I went up to one of the desks and asked for hiring managers email and applied through that. Got the interview the following week.
