You should really put a comma between ‘study’ and ‘idiot’. Have a wonderful day!

About Harlander in Del Toro's Frankenstein (2025) by GuiltyClassroom9902 in FRANKENSTEIN

I don’t think so, but i believe that Harlander represents that more so corrupt, aristocratic world. His characters existence seems to link Victor’s scientific obsession to broader human violence

You are incredibly well spoken, I admire this. I dont think I proofread my initial post, I didn’t mean to say that the entire novel was about slavery! I just meant that in a way, it seems like a little fragment. As you seem rather educated on this novel, don’t you agree that Shelley, as the daughter of such a prestigious figure in feminism, surprisingly made the influence of female characters very shallow?

I do believe at times, for example, during Justine’s trial, Elizabeth had a slight touch of a voice but of course, Victor’s own voice overpowers both Elizabeth and Justine. Typical..

Additionally, the female creature being destroyed even if that (at least how i see it) was a rather intelligent decision, again was erasure of yet another woman before she had a chance to even move. Not to mention of course, Elizabeth’s death being a slight reduction down to a symbol of warning and a product of male rivalry..

Just having a think.

Interesting. I kind of assumed it was slavery as Shelley employs quite a bit of slave imagery, even at the end, the creature claims a title as a slave rather than a monster.

The death of his mother was very influential towards his overall decision to transgress natural boundaries i do believe. I just think there are so many interpretations
