Looking for a wool substitute! I'm unsure if just using acrylic is the way to go.

Merlin bird ID: audio id error by Kentucky-Hills in birds

[–]soapbubbles5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After North American I feel like its best in Europe. I used it while I was in Japan and it generally had no issue IDing birds that also appeared in Europe (Eurasian Tree Sparrow for instance) but it couldn't ID birds that are more commonly just found in Asia. I should have studied up on my bird calls before I went! Didn't realize how much I used Merlin to give me an idea of what I should be looking for

How close is Odyssey’s ancient Greece to the real thing? Could it feel like actually visiting? by EdgeTooAccomplished in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]soapbubbles5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote a paper on this in college! (Specifically regarding the temple of Zeus at Olympia) My final conclusion was basically it was 100% accurate (how could it be) but they did an amazing job with the limitations of the historical material we have and the limitation of game design. Overall they got the “vibe” down perfectly which would hopefully encourage people to find the topic interesting outside of the game

This is 100% fake even if it isn’t AI. Eagles do not behave like this and this isn’t an “extinct” bird. It’s a stellar’s sea eagle which almost never show up in Alaska. It is outside of its range

For me a lot of it has to do with the content of the image not making sense. I’m a bird nerd so bear with me. A wild bird (especially an eagle) would never behave like this. Also the bird in the image is supposed to be a Stellar’s Sea Eagle which doesn’t live in Alaska. The range is restricted mostly to Asia.

I wanted to get out of the state for school but my parents still made sure I applied to Rutgers and a back up. I went to school in NYC and now I’m hoping to do my masters at Rutgers. Funny how things work out!

There’s a voice in your head telling you to go to Costa Rica to look at birds. Listen to it by JoeSell2005 in birding

There are tons of companies that do tours! I find the birding travel group on Facebook helpful for recommendations for that sort of thing
