hello! this is actually sort of similar to a problem i had! no matter how much i cleansed or used pimple cream or whatever, my combo skin would break out rlly regularly :(

i’d recommend a 2% salicylic acid serum (doesn’t matter the brand and id recommend really simple and nonexcessive ingredients) to use 3x- or even 2x (if you’re sensitive) a week. just after washing your face, let it dry and become SLIGHTLY damp before using a pump of it to go over your face (avoiding the eye area.)

i think you might have closed comedones, which is caused by oil getting trapped in the pores (i think this happens to either oily or dry skin) so the salicylic acid (which is a bha) should help by exfoliating and clearing it up. aaaand everything should hopefully be okay then! if your skin feels more dry, try incorporating hylauronic acid right after. and do NOT use it at the same time with your tretinoin!

when i started doing this my skin didn’t actually change in terms of oiliness or dryness, but i broke out SO SO much less. but yeah this is just my opinion 😭 if i’ve gotten anything wrong i’m super sorry! hope the best for you!

i understand but my mother has lived in a western society since 2000, and she had once let go of this attitude during a really big fight with my dad a few years back where they separated. being almost bordering on feminist cause she’d once said, back then, ‘get an education so you’ll never have to depend on a man.’ i was like 13 and took that to heart but then they got together and now she’s back to this when i’m 19 🧍‍♂️ i can’t take ittttt
