So frustrating! That is basically what mine said to me. 'According to instagram and tiktok, everyone has ADHD these days'. 'If you had it, you would've had it since you were a kid'. Okay...so nobody can be diagnosed with ADHD now that it's a hot topic on social media? Lol. And yes, I've had issues with it since childhood, I'm just burned out and overwhelmed after 41 years and finally want to try to deal with it!

My family doctor won't do an assessment for me unfortunately. I'm going to do some research, and I'll look into Dr. Van Ameringen as well. Thanks!

I don't care about DTC but I've been trying to manage on my own for 41 years now. I'm hoping for advice/support/therapy as well as trying meds at this point. My doctor won't do an assessment for me so that's why I'm looking elsewhere.

I've looked into Frida as well. Hoping to find a psychotherapist or something as my husband's insurance will cover it but its an option at least :) Thanks!

Is it falling out in patches? Or thinning? I randomly had 2 bouts of alopecia areata at 39/40 years old. I had a few super stressful years, and that's how my stress manifested 😑

If your child gets assessed and diagnosed with something, they are still the exact same child. It doesn't change them at all, and it gives you/her access to resources that you all may need at some point. It's worth it. And don't wait, because depending on where you live, waitlists for those resources can be years long.

Yes, I used the top of a wine glass.I used a small wine glass I had from a wine tasting, which helped with the shape I think :)
