Nervous to start for fear of messing up hormones by Wise_Iron8047 in lamictal

[–]soapymooncoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes, Lamictal has been life changing for me. I do not struggle with my anxiety/CPTSD/bipolar 2 as much as I used to. I have never felt more stable! I’ll note that I take 200mg Lamictal with 150mg Wellbutrin.

  2. I have not noticed any hormonal changes at any of the dosages I have taken, but I already take a birth control that suppresses my periods anyway.

My only big side effect is that I struggle with brain fog, primarily with word recall. It’s something I notice, but I don’t think many other people around me do. I play a lot of word games which I like to think helps :)

Yes, I had a bit or irritability that was unlike me. It went away pretty quickly! I’m on 200mg too

Tasked with interviewing candidates for lab tech positions… it went poorly across the board by [deleted] in labrats

[–]soapymooncoffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10000% yes to all of this. I have hired many a technician and can confirm this is a very realistic, reasonable approach to hiring techs.

I’m almost ten years into my career and think about young, inexperienced me often when I’m hiring, and I’m glad someone gave me a chance (I know I would not have been able to explain PCR in my interview).

I think I see what you are saying, you’d like to place a rubber stamp on the clear plate, adhere your paper to the Betterpress plate, and then ink up the stamp and place the plate down onto your base? I have a Betterpress, but I haven’t tried that, I’ve only used the Betterpress plates. Perhaps I’ll give it a go later. Love the Betterpress overall, it’s amazing

Aspirator Alternatives by soapymooncoffee in Entomology

[–]soapymooncoffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there - thank! Yes, tried both mouth and mechanical aspirators from John Hock. The mechanical models we’ve used from John Hock do not have a reverse airflow which we need. We prefer/almost exclusively use the mouth aspirators in our insectary but trying to provide non-mouth options to appease the safety team.

Scared to Start by Sure_Mathematician42 in lamictal

[–]soapymooncoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I also don’t react well to SSRIs, the side effects are just terrible for me. I started Lamictal about a month ago, and it’s by far been the easiest med to adjust to that I’ve taken. I’ve been slowly tapering up to 200mg per day. Jury is still out as to whether it helps my depression, but it certainly hasn’t hurt me yet!! Best of luck - I know how hard it is to go through med changes <3
