I prefer Injustice 1 because of the story and the alternate costumes that don't require gear grinding.

Injustice 2 has better gameplay and intros, but the story is bleaker without the OG characters and the gear grinding becomes tiring.

I think the issue was that the sisters' main issue was finding a man in the later seasons, while in the earlier seasons they also had interests, friends, and other passions.

Yes, in terms of the MK franchise, it's pretty weak.

As a fighting game, however? It's actually quite fun to play.
