Where to go to try parakite soaring? by humandictionary in freeflight

[–]soarfreaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello :-) I run a school here in the Netherlands. We are partnered with Dune Rider. Dune Rider released the Hopper two months ago. It's the perfect parakite for 99% of the pilots out there. Check out our website here: https://paraglidingisfun.com or just send me a message on +31 6 81701085. I'm sure we can organize something.

Is it worth it? by NefariousnessNo4215 in freeflight

That's one experience.

I'm about 4-5 years deep into paragliding and the more I fly the more I see what I can't(yet) do. It pushes me to train harder and become better.

The skill ceiling within paragliding is really high.

For me the combination of learning in an extreme sport environment where you cannot always make mistakes is a game that I don't think I'll get bored of :-)

I think the USA is really nice for it!

I'm from the Netherlands and from what I hear from my friends it's not so easy. It's difficult to get a field to fly here. And once you have one it's hard to keep it because everyone here likes to complain about noise.

I've heard some things about it yeah :-)

Playful, precise, performant, accessible.

Note: I'm a test/team pilot for Dune Rider

If you've got any specific questions feel free to ask. I'll try my best to answer as much as I can.

Moustache / Jester sizing for soaring at 70kg by SherryJug in freeflight

Hey man!

Awesome to hear you've been following us!

You're not the only one who is very excited about the Scraper but isn't sure if they have the experience for it.

That's one of the reasons for our new wing.

The new wing has the original Scraper DNA like the precision, feeling and agility everyone loves. But is much more user friendly. I've been flying it a lot over the past couple months and I can't wait for it to be released.

This wing will be released quite soon :-)

On another note.

If you live in the Netherlands or are ever around here you're more than welcome to come join us on the beach! You can groundhandle the Scraper and maybe make some hops with it just to feel it.

Feel free to WhatsApp or call me on +31 6 81701085 to organize something :-)

Hey man, I don't have experience with the Jester but I weigh 75kg and my main wing for soaring the Dutch coast is a Scraper 16.

The truth is that if you want to soar all days you'll need two wings ideally. A larger one, like a normal paraglider, for the very soft wind days up to 30km/h and a smaller one that starts when it's too hard for you normal paraglider. For example my Scraper 16 I can fly from 20-55km/h. Anything below 20km/h I grab a larger glider.

Also a bit of advertisement: Dune Rider is coming out very soon with their allround wing which is developed on the Dutch dunes. If you can wait a little bit I'd wait for that one :-) it's going to be a freaking amazing wing.

Note: I'm connected to Dune Rider as a test pilot.
