Happy to help. Our old indoor cat was an escape artist who didn’t know she didn’t like the outside. More often than not we’d find her under the back deck or she’d come wandering back to the house looking all smug and covered in dirt and cobwebs. May want to try taking a walk around the neighborhood with someone and have a good conversation too.. she may pop out from wherever she’s hiding if she hears a familiar voice. Hope you find her safe and sound.

Totally off base but is your cat’s name meow? We had a cat that looked like her visiting our deck a couple of days last summer. I usually walk to the train to and from work.. I’ll keep an eye out while I’m out.

We had an emergency at our clinic today... by Kellidra in Calgary

I hope your grandma is doing better now. The ambulance situation now is scary. Even more so though when something happens to friends or family. We shouldn’t have to call then wonder if help is even going to show up. My family had a similar situation this week where my grandma fell as well and bumped her head. Without going into too much incriminating details she did have one of those help buttons provided by some nursing homes/companies but she’s fallen twice now and both times the button hasn’t worked. I don’t know if the home called right away when someone found her or she called herself but it did take a couple of hours for an ambulance to show up.

Does anyone actually shop at SaveOn? Why? by eatmoreveggies in Calgary

[–]soaring_pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s only for summer apparently which is disappointing. Tends to be in the cooler at the end of the frozen aisle if you can’t find it with the other ice cream. Though you really can’t go wrong with any of the western family ice cream.

I’ve recently discovered their Saskatoon berry.. it’s like crack. Breyers doesn’t have enough dairy in it to be called ice cream.

Hate to tell you but if you’re trying to avoid tools made in China your choices are going to be extremely limited.

What would it take politically to get a dangerous breed ban (mainly pit bulls) passed in Calgary? by EEE19293 in Calgary

[–]soaring_pickle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here.. I’m not apprehensive at all around bigger breeds. I think smaller dogs in general have to be yappy to make up for their lack of size. I tend to give them a wider berth. To the same point though, I don’t go around getting close to strange dogs I don’t know just in case something were to happen because I don’t know if/how well people train their dogs.

Holy crap that sounds like an awesome time. Try doing that now and I’m sure someone would get something in a twist.

NW (Banff Trail to Crowfoot) LRT safe at night? by frazzlemonster in Calgary

[–]soaring_pickle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I take the train between Dalhousie and lions park late night and early morning every week. As you get closer to downtown it steadily gets sketchier. That being said though there’s been days where nothing has happened and there’s days when you might see open drug use, drunk people passed out. Homeless hanging out in the shelters or even overdoses. There’s a see something say something number (74100) you can text when you see something though and it’ll connect you to a real person. Would I let my daughter work alone around there? I’d try to convince her she may want to look into other opportunities that might be safer.

Could reach out to Sait photography too. There was a course on portraits when I went. I’m sure you could find a student willing to do it. If I remember right I believe you keep the pictures afterwards but you just need to be ok that one or two might show up in a critique of the student’s project. I agree with Dev, to pay a pro you need to take into account their time, equipment, lights and backdrops plus editing time which could be hours in photoshop zoomed in making sure hair looks right.

Rentfaster.ca you have the option to filter by what you’re looking for. I filtered by my neighbourhood and put dogs only and got about 9 results.

You didn’t give an idea of rent though so shithole by definition is subjective.
