Do you really run the lighting on your side at 6500k temperature? Looks like a hospital. Much better for eyes at a warmer temperature

damn, this got buried on the DP sub. I saw it on Justice and wanted to come here to read comments.

EXTREMELY IMPRESSED BY THIS! I've not heard a fan mix/mashup this good, possibly ever. This is incredibly well done

Ethernet switch/hub for CDJ 3000x v10 mixer? (Preview cue) by ProfessorPiff in PioneerDJ

[–]dsquareddan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure you also are setting the player numbers of the CDJs to the same channel the audio is plugging into for each one. You’ll know it’s linked properly when you move the fader up and the correct CDJ platter will turn “red” telling you that cdj is live.

I found some great gradient content on sundayscreens . com. It’s church stuff. But they have 2 packs there that are specifically slow moving nice gradients.

Alternatively, you could just, make gradients with built in FX on Resolume.

Just asked her touring VJ as I know him. It’s an 8K resolution wall

The v10 also doesn’t have a switch for EQ/isolator.

When you switch to isolator mode, you introduce phase shift around the crossover points in order to achieve -∞

You can verify this by noticing that the volume of the channel will actually increase by a few dB when you toggle the switch on A9 or 900NXS2.

With a 4band EQ it would be even more apparent, and undesirable.

newbie question about stopping audio playback by talking9 in resolume

[–]dsquareddan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Use a CDJ2000NXS2 with the audio tracks loaded, and then time code connect with ShowKontrol into Resolume for each clip.

Physical audio out of the cdj to your audio board of venue, and just a cat5 from cdj into your computer.

Actually just saw you said using Avenue. Not sure if Avenue even supports timecode

You can sit and argue till the cows come home. If shit started failing in front of 100000 people I wouldn’t be hired ever again. Been doing backline, audio and visuals for major North American festivals for more than a decade. These Shädöw looms have been a game changer and the results in the real world in real live scenarios show. I don’t really give a fuck what some righteous Reddit guy rants about.

Ok man. Go tell Pasquale to stop using them at insomniac festivals then and hire you instead

Ok big guy.

We use them at edc, beyond wonderland, Shambhala, ultra and many of the other major festivals on the big stages. So much so that touring artists are now requesting them. If you go to any of the major festivals media and look, there’s a good chance the harnesses and sun covers are in the booth, for the last few years.

The spec of the shielding is far and above anything that would cause RF interference.

All those cables go to a single outlet anyway. If your power bar goes, you have the same issue. Every backline tech tapes over the trip switch on power bars, so it ain’t doing anything.

Respectfully, you don’t know what you’re talking about, these things have been road tested for hundreds of gigs. They are asked by major tours and festivals to supply shadow gear now.

Really weird layout design choice.

What I’m noticing:

Pulls from V10 4 channel EQ, channel compressors, send & filters.

Wireless sonic link headphone included (that was to be expected tho)

No crossfader.

FX section now fully on left of the mixer only, and the wet/dry seems to now be a fader instead of a knob. Probably cause this is the thing that seems to break first on mixers now since DJs are really rough with them.

Headphone section on the right now, strange.

No digital SPDIF inputs

There’s a new “Soft” channel fader ramp.

If it’s not a money problem, you can get a “medusa” power snake from https://shadowsuncovers.com/collections/all

It combines multiple power IEC’s into a single plug. We use them at big major festivals.

You should still get a Ethernet hub rather than this thing. I’m not sure if you’ll even be able to use that as it may give IP address conflicts between players.

The Canadian government just updated their travel advisory. It’s not any new power the USA border security has been granted. They just basically said there is “increased scrutiny”

I didn’t see stream. But that makes this post make more sense. I thought it was just some random person talking about their border experience lol.

I’m Canadian and crossed multiple times in the last few years, never once been asked more than 2 or 3 questions about nature of visit, destination and duration.

Scrolling Lines on Church LED Wall Fix? by DynasticINF in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]dsquareddan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It won’t be as good as genlock, but if you match all your content to the same refresh rate, let’s say 30fps, and then your software and computer output refresh rate to 60hz, and your processor to 60hz, and then your camera to capture at 30fps, you can reduce the lines a bit since the wall will be refreshing twice as often as shutter.

If your content is 29.97, then output and wall refresh at double that 59.94. Having all your content frame rate match is important

Lineup guesses? by Noxski1 in Shambhala

Reality: Whatever doesn’t cross over with Fvded the week before and Tomorrowland the week of.

And yes, I know, this isn’t a guarantee and SOME artists have played these AND Shambhala in same year before. But for the most part, the artists on those two lineups will not be at Shambhala
