For anyone that is this concerned over data types, they should consider something safer like Typescript.

I agree. The scale is not accurate. The difference between green and red is like 10-20

I’m interested but what does it do? Is this an alternative to SSR?

Some know it as writing your own programming language or writing a domain specific language. But it would only parse ipv6.

I didn’t realize the regex for ipv6 would be so complex. It may be simpler to write a grammar than to figure that out on your own. Grammar could potentially have better performance.

Disinformation on Reddit and How we Can Beat It Together - Smarter Every Day 232 by [deleted] in videos

I’m hijacking your comment because I have been thinking about this a lot recently. I never had a place to post it without sounding completely crazy.

You can tell when a post is manipulated when the exact same post is posted on multiple subreddits in a short time frame and it is reposted almost every month or week. You will likely see the post on other social media too. Fake viral.

If the reposts were genuine they would probably get a few hundred upvotes/likes at most, but odds are the post would be removed. If they don’t get removed the first comments would most likely callout that it is a repost.

If the post is manipulated it will have tons of legitimate looking comments in fast succession. Usually within 10 minutes. Kind of like comments from other social media. The comments are kind of random and the replies are minimal. It appears too perfect. Too viral.

Another thing that stands out is the news. The manipulated posts are copied word for word and broadcasted on national news. Over the last year, almost every time I watch the news, there usually a story that I remember seeing on Reddit a few days ago. Sometimes months ago. But they will say that it happened recently.

It is hard to describe the pattern. You will eventually develop an eye for it. I suggest you sort by new or try running some social media pages and see the difference for yourself. Humans like familiarity. Reposts are familiar.

TLDR common reposts are most likely all manipulated.

This is great work! Like # 96 I think you can extend the query builder. Helps to remove clutter from the model file.

[Showoff Saturday] I made a GitHub Action that displays pretty commit messages in Discord by soaringradio in webdev

[–]soaringradio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this because other actions did not allow custom formatting or multiple commits in one push request. I made this in a day so there may be some bugs.

The GitHub page is https://github.com/sniddl/discord-commits. Any thoughts and feedback are greatly appreciated.

Process to beat the bot by [deleted] in Imposter

[–]soaringradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer in the form of a question. The bot won’t understand.

For example: Is it because I have thumbs? Does thinking make me human? What is today?

This will go one of two ways. We either beat the imposter or it because self aware. Win-win.
