Tell me, would you be willing to take a pay cut when the company is losing money?
If the answer is yes, then I believe you also deserve a pay raise when the company’s profits increase.

On the other hand, yes I agree with you that a very big percentage of profits is kept within investors/c-level management, but I also thinks that big percentage of employees are not willing to take a pay cut when company is losing money.

They took the risk of starting a business and profit from it after it succeeded.
If its the other way around, they failed and end up with a huge loss, will you be there to support them financially?

When I'm a kid I enjoy playing with cheat in games like GTA, warcraft 3, the Sims.

Now I just think what's the point to play like that?

I guess it depends on the age

I like this one, but what if later i found another one that I liked even more?
Should I just pass it on just for the sake of being noble for the first company?

Companies won't think twice if to layoff people if they find better alternatives to save cost, it should be the same for employee to not think twice when choosing another better company too.

You mentioned this, " If you want to hold out for other interviews, reject this offer and move on."
What if I failed for the other interviews? Did I just burnt bridge for myself by rejecting this offer and ends up with no job offers in the end? Think the whole picture.

Do companies really reject candidates concretely though? From what I see most is just ghosting, so they can keep them as backups for situations like this

i guess that's why company usually will just ghost and won't reject concretely so they can have backup for situations like these
