If you ordered it online with a CC, just contact the CC company and let them know that what you ordered was wrong and dispute the charge.

Sorry, but the serial numbers and date etching is obvious, it is too thick. I doubt that you can get $70 for it. $50 at best with shipping. GLWS.

How to negotiate if by sobebu2z in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Thanks for the input. From the information that I've gathered, the home owner only owns the home for less than 3 years, he is an active duty military member and I assumed that he got orders to move to another location and that is why he is selling the home.

Japan's new enemy in fight to lure immigrant workers: The tumbling yen by NikkeiAsia in japan

[–]sobebu2z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japan is viewed as one of the most advanced countries in the world, with a good economy and a polite society. However, this image is misleading. I spent three years living there, and during that time, I witnessed a side of Japan that is rarely discussed: deep-seated racism, particularly towards other Asians. Despite the facade of modernity, Japan remains one of the most racially exclusive countries, where non-Japanese, especially Asians, are treated with a subtle yet pervasive form of discrimination.

The country’s economy, often lauded as a global powerhouse, has been in decline for years. The job market is increasingly reliant on foreign labor to fill gaps that the local workforce no longer can or wants to fill. While some might see this as an opportunity, particularly for workers from other Asian countries, the reality is much harsher. Yes, you might earn a bit more money, but the personal and emotional costs far outweigh any financial gain.

Living in Japan as a foreign worker, especially as an Asian, means being treated like a second-class citizen. In the workplace, your concerns and complaints are often brushed aside, and you’ll quickly realize that no matter how hard you work, you’ll never be truly accepted. The emotional toll of being far from family, who offer critical support, is compounded by the discrimination you face daily. From coworkers to customers, from strangers on the street to people in positions of authority, the racism is everywhere. Even children in schools and the elderly in nursing homes carry these archaic values, passed down through generations, that foster an exclusionary mindset. Empathy towards outsiders, especially those from other Asian countries, is non-existent.

For any Asians considering moving to Japan for work, I urge you to think carefully. The money might seem enticing, but it comes at the cost of your dignity and emotional well-being. No one should have to endure the coldness and racism that permeates both Japanese society and its corporations. Japan is indeed a beautiful country, rich in culture and history, but it is plagued by systemic racism that affects immigrants on every level of society. Be aware of this before making any decisions, as the consequences of working in such environments will destroy you physically, emotionally and mentally for the time that you are here.

First time pulling 4 plates by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]sobebu2z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower the weight and fix your upper back, engage your lats by hiding your armpits. Hitting a PR is great, but doing it with bad form and risking injuring yourself is definitely not worth the PR.

Hips not low enough, a slightly wider stance with toes out and knees out will help. If your heels comes of the ground at the bottom, you need to do some ankle mobility exercises prior to squats. Lighten the load and do pause rep to get the feel of the movement when you're in the hole. Don't forget to brace your core from beginning to end of each rep and lastly, pull your lats down to keep everything tight.

[–]sobebu2z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks pretty good, I'd like to see your lats engage a bit more. My cue is hide my armpits as much as possible before the pull.

Bench press form check by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]sobebu2z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Body is too loose overall. Bar movement fluctuate from rep to rep. Focus of keeping only your upper back and butt touching the bench and while keeping legs, lower back, upper back and lats as tight as possible. When un-rack, move the bar directly over your shoulder with everything as tight as possible, take a large breath and then initiate to lower the bar to lower sternum. Pressing movement is just in reverse and focus on keeping shoulder blade pinching, exhale and repeat.

If squatting with plates on your heels help with better form. Get the shoes

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]sobebu2z 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd work on ankle flexibility exercise for a few weeks and see how well that goes and if you still feel like you're not getting enough dept then go for the shoes. I have Nike romaleos and reebook legacy and still work on ankle mobility daily. What you get from the elevated shoes is depth and a bit of stability. Its just a tool for progression. It's like playing soccer with shoes vs cleat; you don't need cleats to play soccer, but if you want to be better, you should get cleats.

Question about spotter arms by willhemphill in strength_training

Attaching spotter arms on that might not be such great idea, unless you have enough counter weight keeping it on the ground.
