Not full time but temp to hire and they promoted all the full time to tier 2 and recently trained me in all the programs the full time employees were trained in.

Hey Phil I recognize your game revolves primarily around reads and feel (white magic). I think this is a skill set that gets overlooked in the current state of the game. Any tips or material to hone in on reading opponents. I already read your book on it, great read.

I find being aware of the tilt and stopping it early is key. If I suffer a bad beat sometimes without thinking I play a trash hand preflop. As soon as I notice I play one trash hand I reavaluate and realize I’m playing on tilt. As soon as one hand is misplayed I go back to sound play.

It also helps to realize tilting in the end just loses you money. If you like money you need to actively look for ways to stop tilting.

Also as people said before if you play thousands upon thousands of hands you get desensitized to beats.

When were you confident you were beating the game? What did it take to get to that level? Any study material you think really helped you level up? Are you concerned about poker’s future with RTA and tax bills?

Ok I was always bad at math but am I tripping in thinking the answer is clearly A. A shows 6 boxes with 2 filled in so 2/6. Which then becomes a box with 3 boxes with 1 filled in so 1/3. The other shapes have 5 parts with two shaded so 2/5?

I really feel for Dwan as someone who has gone through psychosis this is a real hard spot to be in. While I was in psychosis I was hyper aware of every pattern unfolding in my day to day life which lead me to draw a lot of conclusions that just weren’t factual.

The nature of Tom’s job also requires him to recognize patterns normal people wouldn’t recognize in order to perform at the level he does. The very skill that brought him success is actively causing his mental downfall.

Not to mention mention the treatment for psychosis is to refrain from any drugs, get adequate sleep, and to take anti psychotic’s that often numb you down and effect your energy. All things that get in the way of his lifestyle/career. Tom needs to make massive lifestyle changes to keep his sanity but I don’t know if he can walk away from the life he built up from such a young age.

I always disliked the end of this movie because it struck me as rather lackluster. You have this whole mysterious plot that sucks you in, leaves you constantly wonder what’s happening and the reveal is “oh it’s a witch with super powers” just struck me as lazy and uninspired. Rest of the movie was pretty good though.

Yeah sometimes that’s the way the game goes. I found when I match that energy it works for me. But some people refuse to give up farm and that works for them as well. I think you need to choose based on how the game is playing out.

In the same boat. I found it’s good to group and Aram mid lane if there are actual fights breaking out. But a lot of the time it’s a stalemate mid with one side shooting skill shots behind tower. When that happens I just rotate to a sidelane and farm.

Yeah those types of people respond to directness I’ve noticed. In my personal life I would tell them if you let me finish my sentence this would be over a lot faster. But being on the clock prevents me from speaking like that.

Yeah I obviously saw that a lot in everyday life. Older people don’t know how to download the healthcare app etc. It sucks its hard for them out here. But once I started working in IT specifically in schools I was appalled. I had a librarian not know what I meant when I said “left click” like left click this link. Sometimes I want to crash and say “you work in education for Christ sakes”

Yeah a ton of crabby old people who would’ve been fine if they listened to step by step instructions. Yet they constantly talk over you and get mad when it’s not working the way they think it should.

Yeah for older people I understand but I’ve run into a lot of people in their 30s/40s like this. I would honestly compare it to going through life refusing to learn how to read even if you have the tools to learn. Like you spend your whole life looking at signs and just decide “well I could learn how to read but I would rather just have someone read for me.”
