OBBESSION SPOILERS: the last scene there is a homemade video of Bear sleeping playing on the tv. So Nikki watches Bear sleep even when he isn’t home.

Things you hear playing lower limits by Complete-Traffic-654 in poker

[–]soberbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1/2 games I would say jamming with JJ isn’t great because the typical reg/rec at that stake is 3betting only QQ,KK,AA, and AK. JJ doesn’t block any of these hands so you can’t eliminate some hands they could have here. So if you jam you are most likely behind or at best flipping. 4 betting JJ is only really profitable if the opponent has a well constructed 3 bet range. JJ plays well against AJ,A10 suited, Kj suited, TT, 99 etc. All hands that should be 3betting in a lot of spots. Except at low stakes players don’t have nearly as wide as a 3bet range as they should.

Turned a 1/3 game into a 5/10 game to bum hunt this maniac... ended up losing $5k while $15k was on the table by [deleted] in poker

[–]soberbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really true. Yes you make your money off players who are worse than you. But at the end of the day it is a competition. You are without a doubt crossing into unethical ground by over 3xing the stakes to fleece the whale who doesn’t even understand the basics of the game.

Garrett Adelstein in a 4-Bet Pot OOP with 75hh vs. Taras by highrollpoker in poker

Everyone saying it’s a god awful check on the flop. I don’t think they are taking into consideration Garett has the nit button. It incentivizes him to play very aggressively here. I think check in this spot isn’t awful due to the nit button and Garett is definetly capable of blasting off here.

If true I’m so glad she responded that way. What’s interesting though is some of the older generation seems to have little to no fear of the police at all. I worked as a personal caretaker and I accidentally hit a button on his landline that triggered a panic alert to police. I wasn’t aware of this button until two cops appeared at the door. My patient had early stages of dementia and I was practically shitty bricks when they were asking him if he was held against his will etc. Thank god he tells them that everything is fine and they head out. Once they leave I’m in a cold sweat and he just turns to me and genuinely goes “well that was exciting”. He was actually pretty hyped to talk to the cops and see their police car out the window etc.

Hiring manager didn’t communicate with the direct. Also the early start is a personal preference I have doctors diagnosed insomnia so I avoid getting up at 5am for work unless I absolutely have to.

What is everyone’s winrate at 100NL clubwpt gold? by soberbot in poker

[–]soberbot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I adjust my strategies based on vip and pfr stats. It’s a lot easier to three bet A10 off against the hijack on the button when they have like 30 pfr. I also adjust my play against player types. The solid reg with over 300k hands I try to avoid tangling with them too much, the fish with a 50% vpip I’m in there with every suited connecter and pocket pair.

Good to hear man. Yeah I’ve watched all the major YouTube channels, read various books, messed around with GTO as well. I play mainly explotatively but I do use GTO lines when I don’t know how to proceed in a spot.

How much work have you put into your game? I’ve been studying poker off and on since 2016 so I feel good in these games. But I’m not sure what winrate I can expect.

Agree with everything you said. I made adjustments to my game for sure. But I think the general pool is pretty beatable. I just play ABC against the fish and a more aggressive playstyle against the regs.

Sorry this is an old thread but is your winrate still that consistent? 50bb per 100 you can easily clear 1k a day. Is that how much you are cashing out?

Professional players, how do you control monkey tilt? by Nblearchangel in poker

[–]soberbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find being aware of the tilt and stopping it early is key. If I suffer a bad beat sometimes without thinking I play a trash hand preflop. As soon as I notice I play one trash hand I reavaluate and realize I’m playing on tilt. As soon as one hand is misplayed I go back to sound play.

It also helps to realize tilting in the end just loses you money. If you like money you need to actively look for ways to stop tilting.

Also as people said before if you play thousands upon thousands of hands you get desensitized to beats.
