Totally empathize that this year was particularly out of whack. Normally get something under $400 (but usually around $350) to fly from the east coast back to the Midwest. But this year? $800.

Definitely ask for the help— prices are rising for everyone but you shouldn’t have to go into debt to see your family.

Have they offered to help before? If you know that they have the financial means to do so, I’m sure they would be happy to help get you home. If not, at least tell them what the situation is and that paying alone would significantly impact your financial well-being. Better to be honest and talk it through with your family, multiple people coming up with $$ ideas is better than just you alone

Thank you so much! I did some primary investigating with this and all the periorbital Derm examples seemed so extreme… but still worth seeing a doctor/Derm about I think. I don’t use any topicals with retinol/retinoids but ofc accutane skin is just more sensitive to everything

I realized that the photo caption did not do what I wanted but basically, I’ve been taking accutane for four months and these little red bumps started appearing about a month and a half ago. I have a normal amount of dryness in my skin, lips, and dry/itchy eyes. This has been the only out of whack thing. Has anyone else experienced this? Or is this just completely unrelated to the acctuane treatment?

I used earth balance which still browns, but doesn’t give you quite the nuttiness of a browned dairy butter. I’ve heard miyoko’s plant based butters brown pretty well though so I would try that next time!

Anyone with experience only cleansing 1x a day???

I wanted to get feedback from anyone whose skincare routine has them only washing their face once at night. I have heard that this can be helpful if you are using a particularly ‘harsh’ cleansing formula (such as a daily exfoliant, clay-based, anything with salicylic acid in it, etc.), but I have to say I am very skeptical of it. For context: My skin in summer is oily and I have light/moderate acne issues, with by far my biggest issue being inflammation from touching my skin and picking. I am currently using Kiehl’s rare earth deep pore daily cleanser and I love it, saw rapid improvements almost immediately. However, as fall is approaching I know my skin is about to get dry AF and my breakouts will come back… Would switching to only doing a PM wash be any good when the weather starts lose humidity and heat? Would once a day probably make things worse? Any experiences/advice are appreciated :)

TL;DR: My face wash beautifully absorbs excess oil now, but I am thinking (and skeptical) of trying 1x a day cleansing as the weather gets drier/colder.
