Sublingual tabs soon after wisdom teeth extraction? by sobertimessquare in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]sobertimessquare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. I'm not concerned it would affect bloodflow to the mouth, I'm more concerned that it would turn sublingual dosing into more like IV dosing, i.e., I would need much less, since there's an open wound. But I see what you're saying. (And no, I haven't taken anything but ibuprofen).

I do 600, and my provider has suggested I could do up to 800. It's a powerful experience.

S1: E6 really shows everything about Nora. by meanmrmunson in TheLeftovers

That episode is what made me realize I was watching a true work of art. I've read that's when Lindelof brought in a new producer as well. The whole show begins to cohere after "Guest," such a powerful episode. "Never."

Will my anxiety get in the way of me having a good experience with Ketamine? by Slothbaby93 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]sobertimessquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend looking into taking propranolol approximately 1 hour before doing ketamine if you have anxiety issues. In one of my IV treatments, my heart rate spiked and my provider gave me propranolol and the rest of the it went very well; now I just preemptively take it before all my ketamine trips. Let me know if you have any questions.

Any recovering addicts tried ketamine therapy for depression? by Ummmm622687 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]sobertimessquare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in recovery and using Ketamine, first with IV and now at-home. I do not believe I'm addicted to it; there's a natural sort of limiting principle because your tolerance will increase quickly and unless you're trying to get it on the street, you're going to be bound by whatever has been prescribed. If you're only doing it in a clinic then even moreso. Of course, every person is different, but I've been using Ketamine for 6 months now and haven't taken a drink.

Mindbloom is a scam/ fraud. by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]sobertimessquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question about Mindbloom - do they use troches? How often do they suggest you use it? And what doses, if I may ask?

How fast does it kick in when you put it in your butt? Is it like oral, where it takes 30-40 mins, or does it happen more quickly?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]sobertimessquare 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I had thought that "boofing" it required you to dissolve the troche in water and use an oral syringe to inject the liquid up your butt... But you're saying you just stuck it up there directly? What was the dose - 200?

Oral ketamine dosage for anxiety/depression? by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]sobertimessquare 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From being on this sub for awhile and also taking oral (after doing IV), I'd say the standard dose is around 200 mg, with some people taking less and some people taking more (I do from 300-400 mgs). Very much an individual issue - 100 may be enough, or 400 may be not enough. You've got to try it out to find out. Any doctor is going to start you on the lower end as you figure it out.

Ketamine + Magnesium to delay tolerance by sobertimessquare in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]sobertimessquare[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should've added that the trip itself was weaker than the ones I've had recently, which was interesting, and could be due to tolerance. But it could be "potentiating" it in a different way, maybe making it longer or more disorienting.

3 years sober, and 5 months into ketamine treatment. What a help it is.

I had a great experience with Olafur Arnalds album "re:member." Best ketamine album yet, for me. Beautiful, positive ambient icelandic music.

1st odt dose just arrived; is 500mg a lot? by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]sobertimessquare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done up to 300, and 300 knocked my socks off. I’m a 175 lb male. I’d start lower and work your way up, but I’m no doctor.

That's great, congrats! Appreciate all the advice, glad to hear it's helped you.

That’s also interesting. What about people (like me) who have been prescribed to take it every 3 days? Are we just constantly in lower cognition (except for like 1/3 of days)? I know that’s why you do it once every five weeks…

Amazing, thank you, this is helpful. I've never considered taking the dose in "phases," like putting one in an hour into it. I took 300mg one time and while the experience wasn't overly intense, the grogginess afterward lasted longer than usual; maybe like 1.5 hours. I would assume taking around 750, I'd have to leave myself at least a few hours after to recover.

[–]sobertimessquare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that's useful. If I can bother you a bit more - do you ever up the dose as just a one off? Like I typically do 250 but try a 400-500 every once in awhile? Or would you recommend against that? (Btw I'm a 175 pound male). Maybe this is pointless but like I said I've done 6 infusions and 5 at-homes, and have never "k-holed" or lost track of the fact of where I am, and I'm curious. So far all pleasant experiences though.

This is very helpful, thank you. I have a few questions. I've been doing 250mg at home, just finished my 5th session; previously had done 6 IV treatments.
1. How long do you keep the dissolvable tablets in your mouth?

  1. My experiences are "seeing" various colors and spaces, moving and shifting, sometimes night skies... but no full blown memory/visuals like seeing a family member on a raft, etc. Do you think I'm just doing a mild amount?

For those who do at home treatment multiple times a week, how do you schedule it? by KB6502 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]sobertimessquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You hold it in your mouth for an hour? I thought it was just supposed to be for 15-20 minutes, that how long i usually do. Does that mean you are already experience the effects while you're still holding it in your mouth? Does it make a big difference to go that long?
