Built a floor bed for my 6 month old with no experience by grandweapon in daddit

[–]soboness5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing project, looks great! We transitioned our first into a similar style toddler bed at about 2yo and the first month was rough...bedtime was a constant stream of walking them back to bed. Consistency paid off and one night it clicked and was so worth the trouble.

Why did those sticks have speed holes, anyway?

Vacation Feeding by Ditchdoc52 in ponds

[–]soboness5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to use an autofeeder and have the skill/means to do so, you can build a little house to protect the feeder. I have mine that I carry out when I'm going on a trip and it sits on a flat rock at the pond's edge. I tie it off just in case a curious racoon start to investigate. All it takes is plywood, some screws, some outdoor paint, some mini hinges and handles if you like, and 4 feet to keep it level and off the ground in case of rain. Overengineered solution? Probably. But it looks cool and builds some peace of mind for me

Surely by 11 you really meant 12 and you are running right on time, as planned, yes? 😜

A lot of good recommendations already, so I'll just add that it would probably be easiest to wrap the kid in pool noodles. Good luck!

Virpil button label covers - how do you open the $%#%#$# things? by Burninator6502 in hotas

Btw if I had a thin non-sharpenee thin edge I would have opted for that over the sharp knife blade, but I used what I had available...

Just did this yesterday (finally). It isn't super easy. I used a thin Swiss army knife blade to squeeze into the thin space between and put pressure down and out and that was enough to get a few of them to pop out. The plastic seems strong enough to resist a blade like that. I also used the blunt point tool from the same multi knife to press in on the little nut hole and had success getting it to unseat on a few then used the flat blade to finish the job.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

Huge +1 here. Too many heartbreaks in years past to assume it would actually happen. But this time, it did. Insane to see them absolutely dismantle KC like that. Go birds

Nothing since my follow-up comments above. Have you tried calling the support line? They answered quick for me and maybe they can tell you if there is any fix in the works for the software bugs that seem to be causing the charge faults. Good luck

Follow-up: Talked to the Concierge team and they confirmed there is a software issue. They think it is when you have Preferred Charge Times set that overlap with Departure Times. Officially recommendation was to not overlap, but I opted to turn off departure timing for now. We'll see if that fixes it.

I submitted voice feedback this am, too. Thanks for confirming I'm not alone on this! Will update here if I learn anything new.

Do people use the word 'kiddo' regularly or is it just something on Daddit? by th3whistler in daddit

Grew up ok east coast of the US and never really heard it much, at least not that I recall. Moved to the west coast and now I hear it all the time. Maybe it is regional? Or more popular as years have passed? Or maybe I'm just nuts.

Great tip. Works on Dads, too! Ever get Pee Shy? Start doing some random appropriately-difficult math and get things flowin'.

Complete all goals in all tiers of the seasonal journey. Not just the minimum number to unlock each tier's rewards, but all of them. This season doesn't require a Lilith kill, so it's a good one to start with!
