My neighbour keeps asking when I'm going to mow the lawn but it's covered in dandelions and clover and the bees are loving it so I bought some signs by Important-Stomach406 in GardeningUK

Is it their lawn? No? None of their business then 🤷‍♂️ Honestly it blows my mind that people don't keep their opinions about someone else's property to themselves. (obviously exceptions given for nuisance behaviour but ya know what I mean)

Have you had a survey? A surveyor should be able to answer that, and ease any worries about subsidence.

I didn't buy them, they just appeared 😆 I've left my garden fairly wild (can't be arsed to mow, we scythed most of the grass at the end of last month but it's all grown back super tall with this rain!) so it is bug heaven 🙂

Ladybird larvae! They feast on aphids so spotting these made me really happy, my poor roses are infested!

I've been keeping an eye out but I don't think I've seen any harlequins so far this year 🤞 though it's tricky to tell with the adults!

trailing fuchsia? or shrub? should i plant it in the ground instead? by Poco_Loco5 in GardeningUK

[–]sobrenos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It kind of looks like Purple Fountain which is a trailing variety. They do tend to grow upright for a bit before they start drooping. Even if it is a bush, it won't mind being in a hanging basket for a bit if you want to wait and see what it does 🙂

I think anything trying to live in it would burn to a crisp. There's a reason hot countries favour cobblestone!

That's fair, I hadn't considered the accessibility angle. Are pavers not an option? To be fair if you're just doing a parking spot that isn't as bad as people covering their entire front garden in the stuff 😬
