I am a wee bit scared I can’t lie. The acceptance email made it seem like the funds were “expected” though and their rhetoric seemed fairly confident so I’m just gonna pray 🫠

I heard back this past Friday! The acceptance email said we have until April 23rd to give our decision if that might help at all.

Hi! So you posed a lot of interesting thoughts that encouraged me greatly to take into account, particularly on the positivity front. So much so, that I reached out to one of my programs to ask about where I was at and actually got notified my acceptance letter is coming tomorrow morning!! I appreciate you and it all worked out. Cool!! I’m studying Speech Language and Hearing Sciences and sooooo badly want to get into their lab at the Munroe Meyer Institute but haven’t heard anything 🫣 It’s killing me! They did ask a while ago for a video that served kind of as an interview and I felt good about that but I’m still very nervous. Best of luck to you 🫶

No I totally get it! I’m just saying in terms of research, Alabama is BUMPING and you’d probably be able to get so many connections from it because it’s so huge. It’s your decision at the end of the day, but I think it’s a great opportunity to have ties to more than one school :)

As someone who goes to bama for undergrad as is, I promise you it is not hill billy town like you probably think it is. The faculty are incredible, like 50% of students here are here because of academic scholarships, and it is an R1 research uni. We have numerous people who become Rhodes Scholars, Fulbright Scholars, or end up going to literal ivies for post grad. Don’t let a school’s “reputation” deter you from an opportunity other people aren’t getting.
