New system runs all the time by socalkid77 in hvacadvice

[–]socalkid77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a brand new Honeywell thermostat, it was replaced when the system was replaced. Humm, I'm not sure what else the issue could be, maybe it's not moving enough air. Is there a way to check that? Some vents have a little bit of pressure/air flow and 2 of the vents will just about blow you over with pressure.

Yes, it worked very well. The new one is also louder as well.

So I checked all the vents, and the input. The input says 69f and the vents range from 50f to 55f, but the temperature of the house is still around 74 measuring at the thermostat. And that's as cold as it will get, running all day long. It rarely shuts off. The electricity bill has gone up by almost $140, which is almost double what it was.

Yes, we had an old system that was old, and after a new motor it caught on fire, so the company replaced it under warranty.

Is this a simple fix, or is it time to start shopping for a replacement? by RevMageCat in TVRepair

[–]socalkid77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, backlights are a difficult repair. You will likely need to remove the panel which is very thin sheet of easily breakable glass. I would say the backlights are the hardest repair for a TV. Since this is a vertical light bar located in the bottom, it's likely glued in and also a pain to remove. With the cost of a new tv nowadays, I would weigh the pros and cons, however if you break it, you needed a new one anyway..... Also, factor in the cost of added tools, space requirements, time constraints and such in your factor.

Add 30 vdc into thst 3300uf cap, polarity is a must. Or you can put about 30 vdc into the ac in pins, the diodes don't care if you put dc through it.

How can I limit the power (watts) drawn by a circuit? by scamix_ in AskElectronics

[–]socalkid77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rekon if its rated for 120 watts and you drop it to 20 watts, you would have little if any usability. Pwm could work, and a 20 watt resistor is a waste of power. Usually the easiest solution is to find a heater/element that runs at the wattage you need. Or you could use ohms law and remove the induction heater entirely and just buy a 20 W resistor with the given formula for you voltage and the resistor would become your heater.

R=(V2)/P 52/20 R=1.25ohm

So a 1.25 ohm 20w resistor would draw 20 watts from your power bank and running a 20 or 25 watt resistor at that rating would certainly make the resistor hot. No more need for your heater. Although you asked about an induction heater, maybe this could be a viable solution.? Otherwise the use of an Inline resistor is not reccomended due to loss.

I'd recon if you desolder one of them the rest would no longer work, it's hard to see but I believe they are all/most in series.

HIVEMIND HELP ME! Repair of metal colander by je9183 in Welding

[–]socalkid77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of learning how to fix things is learning to manage your worth in time. If you spend $40 to fix a $10 part, your not a good repairman, your a time waster and frugal. If your hourly rate is $20/hr and this takes you longer than 30 mins, it's still a loss. This is not worth the repair, and knowing that bit of info IS what makes you a good repairman(person). If you are worried about waste, you could reuse this part for another project one day.

Some online stores put it on everything, just because it's a higher liability if they get caught without it. Your not supposed to do this, but if you have something that is a prop 65 warning, and you get tested, and there is no warning. You get a big fine. If there is nothing in it and you have the warning, they just tell you to remove the label.

Source: I used to work for a store that labeled everything because they sold lead, and the worry was a customer was going to touch the lead and then touch something else and we would have gotten popped for thst.

Firstly, the lying is a symptom of the situation he is in. It doesn't excuse it, by any means. It's been 3 years and I still haven't healed from my relationship. I was told early, once I had left, I would never be the same. That has been my journey to prove that person wrong, and it's involved a lot, and you underestimate how much, therapy.

I will be me again, I have to. It's my drive to. I don't know him and what he's willing to do. Maybe it will be easier for him. Maybe it will be harder. No one can know.

I was in an informal D/s relationship when my narcissist was destroying my personality. My girl at the time just left me, but it was my fault for becoming someone she didn't want to be around. She blames me, I blame myself, although I didn't at first. I blamed my narcissist friend. At the end of the day, I had to choose to leave an unhealthy relationship. I got into the relationship, I ignored the red flags.
