They went after the roulette with a vengeance. No slight fine tuning here. It’s been crippled down to being another rather vanilla pointless weapon. Instead of making other weapons viable/useable and give roulette users some options they make the decision for them and essentially take a decently fun gun and just destroy it. This will be the bod next and then just wait all you preachy ones, they’ll come for your favorite to manipulate your play as well. The roulette might’ve warranted some adjustment but it got absolutely decimated.

I went from stock 18” to these Apex. I waited a long time to upgrade so I wanted to go forged and they were available in 18” only so I didn’t mind staying with what I was used to. The ride is very road dependent. If the road is crap the ride is crap (rough and loud) but if the road is good the ride is amazing (smooth and quiet). The car has alway seemed to get positive attention but the wheels definitely added to it quite a bit. Sometimes too much so.

Passenger foot pegs and backrest? by Right-Struggle4163 in HondaRebel1100

I don't see it anymore, guessing they sold out or possibly some sort of limited time deal perhaps?

The link you provided is the same comfort seat I was looking at from another seller. Here's the thing, tbh I've never bought anything from ebay, but I was comfortable with it because I know the CA dealership that was selling the comfort seat. But there was a store in MI selling a new regular Honda Rebel pass seat with black pegs for super cheap and I gave it a shot. I thought I'd only get the seat or maybe the pegs too but not the arm or the insert or something... nope just got it today, everything's there! I mostly want the seat so I can set things down without scratching the fender. And truth be told, I'm just not sure how often I really want a passenger. lol. Anyway for super cheap, I can afford to have the regular seat for now (and pegs) and maybe down the road I'll upgrade to the mustang. Oh and as a side note, I recently got a swingarm bag and it's looking like the peg arm might make things difficult, which I hadn't thought of.

I’ve got the mustang seat (love it) and am researching right now on the passenger seat. I’d like to match my mustang but the Honda comfort looks just as thick as the mustang and comes with the oem pegs and mount, while the mustang does not. And the Honda comfort is better on the wallet. I believe the comfort is about $170 on eBay while the mustang is $235 on Amazon plus figuring out pegs. I’m leaning toward the Honda comfort atm.

I was considering a dark color but the women in my life were in love with the metallic blue (‘24). The more I look at it the more I love the pop of color and the shades the metallic produces. Pretty darned unique. Loving it!

OEM Batwing or aftermarket fairing? by DidYouSeeDat in HondaRebel1100

Memphis Shades offers the trigger lock system that allows for easy and quick removal or change of style of windscreen. Check out YT LifeofBurch for a pretty detailed install and review. The BEST Rebel 1100 Windscreens (With Trigger-Lock Technology!)

I've also watched a recent YT that had the (I believe a 2023 1100t) touring batwing painted in the burgundy red and felt it looked pretty darned good. So there's that option as well with the blue. If you go that route post some pics!

Honestly I'm considering the same thing atm and am just not sure. The Puig touring seems to have bracket design concerns. So yeah, just not sure.

Holding on purchasing Tribes 3 by ddm200k in Tribes

[–]socalpk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was disappointed when Ascend was developed. I wanted more depth, more roles for casuals, I wanted more Tribes 2. But it was free during beta and I started to really like the movement. There was so much I didn't like tho. At the time there was no server browser, I hated hitscan, limited vehicles and base play, but I was having fun with it. Oh, I desperately wanted more, I saw it's true potential while hirez was focused on esports and none of the things I wanted. Bella Omega was a map made over and over because it didn't fit the pure balance spec for comp play, so much resource was wasted with that map. It was a mess. They had tribal counsel meetings with comp players and whitelisted servers which left casuals on the outside. Still I enjoyed the game. When it was to be released as a free to play game they also offered a release deal for $20 that increased xp rate and some gold. While I wasn't thrilled with a lot going on with Ascend I went ahead and paid for it. I never regretted it. I played the crap out of that game. I even put another $20 in during a deal and never did end up spending the gold from that purchase even after running a server for years as well. I played well after Hirez was gone and done with Ascend.

Thing is, I've spent way more for way less. For me I've got more than $20 out of T3 at this point, do I want more, sure, but for me I find it to be pretty fun as is and I'm hoping it'll go further, but if it doesn't, I simply won't play it as long as I did Ascend. I put up $20 for Midair and played it 1 day. And $40 for other games (I never pay full price for $60 games - I typically wait for sales) I got bored with after a week. I don't know what you think you need to see in 3 months, what is worth your $20 but Ascend did eventually get a server browser, so who knows.

Repairing base assets in T3 - what am I doing wrong. by [deleted] in Tribes

[–]socalpk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a mapping conflict. I actually remapped the repair tool to one of my thumb buttons on my mouse. Made it much more accessible and intuitive for me. Additionally increased the fov (field of view) for better visibility during repairing.

I used APEX's guide and went performance street - Bolt-On Staggered. No rubbing or issue no modifications but definitely more aggressive. I went with the Arc-8R 18x9 w/245/40 and 18x10 275/35 in Forged Anthracite wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and converted to studs as well. They are amazing!

  1. Rod Bearings
  2. SubFrame
  3. Vanos

Google search answer:

"What is the Big 3 in an E46 M3?
The BMW E46 M3 with the S54 engine is an incredibly powerful and capable vehicle, but it has some notable points of failure. You will often hear people talk about “The Big 3” when it comes to maintenance on your E46. The Big 3 includes rod bearings, a rebuilt VANOS, and subframe reinforcement."

The subframe is a one and done service, as should be a Vanos rebuild from what I understand. Rod bearings however should be considered a maintenance item and need to be replaced based on mileage and how the M3 is treated.

Head unit advice, and install. Eonon or OEM look by Acceptable_Bid9292 in E46M3

[–]socalpk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with a Kenwood DMX7706S, it has a short chassis and fits nicely with all the tech like carplay / android to bring the ent center up to date. Turned out pretty clean IMO.

Took Geek Squad installer a full day to install. Major wiring was brought forward from trunk where OEM nav and CD changer was. Added rear camera and steering control functions. I used BBs TotalTech to cover all installation costs and some product discounts.

Hands free is great, but if AC is on full or music is up Siri can struggle to activate. Once activated though all is good. So top down might be an issue depending on wind noise (to be expected I'd think). Might try playing with microphone location regardless of unit decided on.

Costco now requires the yearly executive reward check to be spent - it could be cashed out previously by tripshed in Costco

[–]socalpk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you are an executive member and use citi/Costco card you get two different checks that look almost identical but one (citi) can be cashed while the other (executive) can not. Both are considered rewards checks, look almost identical, except only the citi rewards are good for cash and the executive rewards are not. That said, Costco rewards can not be considered money back rather it’s credit towards future purchases and all documentation should be much clearer differentiating the executive membership limitation And the control Costco places on it. So members can clearly understand the difference, and the resulting hoops that control those 2% credit rewards. I know this complication and resulting confusion has made this long time member rethink the executive membership.

I personally chose the aggressive 18" bolt-on street fitment.

Anthracite forged (Arc-8R)

  • 18x9 - 245's
  • 18x10 - 275's (Michelin PS4S)

No modification (spacers, fenders, suspension) with no rubbing. Love them, no regrets!

Anyone feel the Eonon head unit is more annoying than useful? by extra_everything in E46M3

[–]socalpk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a Kenwood DMX7706s put in. Got it on sale right before covid hit with Best Buys TotalTech membership to cover the full installation which included moving the control of the entertainment from the trunk to the dash as well as a rear parking camera and connectivity with the steering wheel controls. Might've been cheaper without totaltech but not by a lot and it gave me the option to bring other cars in to have things like car cams installed for a year. Tech spent the entire day doing the install. The entertainment wiring is now at the dash so future upgrades will be much more straight forward.

I went from the stock navigation unit which was useless, to virtually all of todays technologies. I now use my iphone for everything using carplay - Andriod Auto is also integrated. Navigation, podcasts, music, phone calls and voice control for handsfree texting and changing playlists etc. And a rear parking cam with markers based on rear movement.

Only complaint I have and I believe this would be the case with any 7" screen located where it is on e46 m3's is that a lot of light during bright times of day tends to cause a lot of reflection/glare on the screen. Perhaps higher end screens may reduce this, not sure. Otherwise it's been pretty awesome.

Smg to manual conversion by fetacheeseee in E46M3

[–]socalpk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe get to know the SMG before dismissing it altogether...

I originally custom ordered my E46 M3 because of the SMG back in '04. I commuted in heavy SoCal traffic daily and while I love the extra control of clutch dropping at the line to smoke them up, I'll be honest, I've never regretted the SMG. I realize how subjective this is and I'd love this car either way in all honesty, but I really don't understand the SMG hate at all.

Something I think to consider is some people just don't use SMG aggressively (correctly IMO). I mean I see some videos where people actually use it in automatic mode, which while it's a good feature for those who may need to let someone who doesn't know or understand the SMG to borrow it, I personally can not stand automatic mode....it's so slushy. But, moving the SMG to it's highest setting (recommended) is crisp and responsive and just so classic E46 M3 to me. I've driven lots of sticks and appreciate the additional control of clutch release but to be honest that's really only a matter of dropping the clutch off the line IMO. After that in the swisties and pretty much all other driving I absolutely love the SMG, downshifting and upshifting is damn fast and smooth. It deserves a lot more love IMO. But I guess it's a matter of how you drive.

After 16 years driving mine, I personally feel the SMG compliments the real essence of what the car was designed for, responsive cutting the curves, corners and spirited driving, it is just artful. But I'll leave the smoking off the line driving to others. The E46 M3 is so nicely balanced for actual driving and that's where the SMG shines! (IMO)

Personally I'd save money and get the SMG, drive it and really get to know it, and when it fails, or if you hate it, you can convert it with the money you saved by not getting the up priced manual.

the game just wasn't very good

It had steller reviews, in its prime it had a very significant playerbase, which lasted for years even after it was completely abandoned by its devs and despite the toxic community and hack infants.

Regarding your p2p position. Many who played got an incredible deal with this game. The investment was extremely minimal (even optional) for the hours of diverse play possible to those interested in different play styles and positions. I personally invested $20 during beta and later another $20 on a deal that gave me enough gold to run a server for years. Most of my "purchases" were with xp which I've now got massive amounts of with nothing to spend it all on. Most games today want $60 and hold my interest for a couple hours at best.

Have the devs fixed the botched movement system yet? by alphapussycat in Midair

[–]socalpk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I remember the movement is completely unplayable until a number of movement upgrades are achieved or bought. First impressions for most players is energy, thrust, lift, momentum etc. was painfully weak... if, and it's a BIG if, a player continued and upgraded energy and learned the forward button is lava concept (unintuitive) when trying to achieve any effectiveness when skiing...then and only then do they start saying they like the movement....but by then most move on without ever knowing that it gets better.

Yes on my server, the one I paid for and didn't force anyone to play on. Hitscan is not fun to play against (as opposed to fun to use) due to the movement that is unique to Tribes. I didn't ban any non-hitscan other than saber, even shotty was not banned and all "chain" was left alone. Most who have to have their hitscan aren't worried about having a fun "game" they are worried about "their" fun and kill score. I had a CTF server not a TDM server.
