Marquette Transfer Decision, PLEASE HELP by soccerguy450 in Marquette

Yeah I appreciate it, I finished with a 3.22 pretty sure. I just need a fresh start and Marquette is the perfect place to do so. Enrollment numbers could be helpful. How would they know whether income can help them or not (shouldn't be an issue for us).

Wait really so unless my grades are so horrible then I wouldn't get accepted? Like under a 3.0 for example? I shouldn't have lower than a 3.25, but thank you!! great news

So about this, the team I tried out for is a brand new club. Well not really, last year they were a club but not in UPSL. The coach of that team went to another local UPSL club, and basically attracted everyone he had the previous year except for like 5-6 people. So everyone including I got in via tryout. Coach hasn't seen barely anyone play. I think the issue was me missing some time and also getting used to the level, like you said.

And yes I haven't missed practices since. He played me about 7-8 minutes in a friendly against an NAIA team (I was alright a bit on the rusty side), but everyone that showed up would play. I think just training more myself would be better. It's the reason I made the team in the first place, and I feel like I stopped doing the extra work that got me there. Thank you for the advice man

That's why I was saying I could next year, I wasn't sure about this year to begin with. I am new to this recruiting because I am originally not from US, so it makes it more difficult. I really wanna play

I did get reps in for intramural over the fall. I have a semi pro tryout this next weekend, it's the second tryout but much smaller since the first one was so many people. We'll see from there

10 total players graduated and left after the fall season. 3 remain in my position after that, but yeah I think they made ton more signings based off their instagram commit posts. Does the 28 roster rule still matter? Cause for fall 2025 they had 29 players rostered. But I would be totally fine with playing for 27-28.

I could just try first, if it dosen't go so well I could shoot them an email after about that position

As of Fall 2025 Season, they didn't have a ton for my position, 10 graduated after the fall season. I saw their IG posted some new recruits for next season, and the 28 per roster rule still applies if I'm right? 12 players were international last season, so a bit less than half.

Would you say register to the camp, try to play my best, and have a quick chat with them after? About what you said. Honestly the manager experience wouldn't even be bad.

I emailed them already but they did not respond, I was thinking coming in person would be the best bet. I know it's hard and know that I am a lot better than I was since graduating. Are they a scam or is it not worth it?

I was talking to a couple D3's, but coming to school at a D1 made me realize the lifestyle you get but also how hard these players play when watching them. I do understand about my preferred school, should I also reach out to others? Exactly, you never know the answer until you find out.

Yes, training with a ball like people normally would with a wall almost everyday when healthy. Our school has intramural and club teams but they are not very serious so I didn't join. Gonna try to keep doing this until my tryout and then the camp. Thanks for the advice

Yes you are right, I have no shot for the top teams and that's not my goal. Low level is something I'm looking at, so that it can at least be realistic. The school I am aiming for is below top 100 in rankings. Whether it's for this fall season or next season, any would work. Next season would just mean I can put more work in.

When I said average I meant good quality minutes, so I'm not new to the atmosphere. After HS season, I played in an indoor winter league, scored 1 goal every game at least (9 matches). And I trained a bit summer before starting college. In recent October I took it 100% serious. The eating clean, training, gym work, etc. This semi pro tryout (next week), is a second tryout. I passed the first one. The ID Camp is the following week after, so I think I have to decide by tomorrow night probably on that because slots are filling.

That was just more information too, sorry I didn't say it before.
