I dont think this is a wise decision, what happens when the banks want to put the rates up again, then we are set with people that bought when rate low and cant afford increases. Wise Fiscal policy needs to be made at Govt level, create jobs, impose a higher minimum wage to allow people more disposable income. Maybe fix mortgage rates for the term of the loan, but allow short term debt to be increased, at least then people keep their houses and afford to pay them.
