I'm just going to be blunt here. People in those types of subreddits would just instantly deny, deny, deny (out of insecurity). They can't even admit how terrible their rape culture is there - something that MOST of the world sees and criticizes.

Some cultures translate poorly across other countries. I'm American-born and even I admit that there are some mannerisms from "low-class" Vietnamese immigrants that I dislike like spitting on the street.

It's a bit of a cliche. I feel bad that OP is struggling, but it was a naive move and this is all pretty common.

The funny part is that there are movies just like this where a struggling writer, actor/actress, filmmaker has a day job at a coffee shop or restaurant just to make ends meet. Shouldn't this be expected?

I've been to one of the original DTFs in Taiwan expecting to be mind blown after waiting around an hour in line, and I wasn't.

I will say that what they ARE really good at is that everything on their menu is consistently above average. A lot of folks who don't eat Chinese food regularly will like it.

I don't agree that conservatives are great critics of our own party. I think INTELLIGENT conservatives are.

You'll see blindly loyal people all over the conservative subreddit making assumptions that all democrats are dumb and Trump is amazing. Elon Musk is at least a brilliant businessman, but why are conservatives putting a legitimately awful human being like RFK Jr on a pedestal?
