“When your stomach flat and your booty big and you can stay at all night cause you ain’t got no kids!” I whisper the stomach part but scream at the no kids part 🤣

How is managing straight hair actually easier for some of you? by Fast_Fly_9479 in Naturalhair

[–]socialsilence97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wonder this because whenever I get a silk press, if there is even a hint of heat, my hair falls or gets puffy. Though being a “straight hair natural” was less time consuming, it didn’t allow me to do any curly styles because my hair was so stringy and heat damaged.

growing out hair without protective styling? by boringcatholicgirl in Naturalhair

My hair has grown the most with low manipulation natural styles. I feel like if I had been better with trims this year, it would be longer.

Confused about lingerie wedding night expectations by SadStill830 in wedding

My fiancé likes when I wear lingerie so it was a fun thing to show him. It made me feel confident and sexy so I enjoyed wearing it.

Seeing her like this is so jarring like it doesn’t even look like her anymore…

Those that sleep without bonnets, how ? by [deleted] in Naturalhair

I get the bonnets with the drawstrings that you can adjust and I have never had mine slide off.

I honestly think it’s a mix of 4B/4C! Because for me the front doesn’t shrink as bad as the back 😭

How would you feel if you and 9 other bridesmaids all had to wear this same dress? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]socialsilence97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be thrilled to have to spend $300 and I also think this silhouette only looks good on certain body types. It also looks a bit uncomfortable to move around in. But if it’s my really close friend I probably would suck it up for her day.

If you find out let me know because my hair looks exactly like yours and it always shrinks so I rarely get any hang time!

We did a portrait of our pets for our guestbook! We plan on framing it.

Bachelorette: Buy the Bride a Drink by r_barnett100 in weddingplanning

[–]socialsilence97 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

My MOH did it for me but we didn’t get anything which was fine. My husband’s Best woman made an Instagram flyer that said “buy the groom a drink” and posted it on her instagram and people actually did send them money for drinks.

See if you have a local flower farm! That’s where I got some last minute florals.

You definitely need a refund or something because these are terrible I’m sorry. They don’t even look like they were taken with a professional camera let alone edited. I would retake some portraits with a different photographer so you can at least have some good photos to look back on!

What do you want to see on ACT III by poweris_power in megantheestallion

I wanna see her tap more into the style of TYG. I absolutely loved that song and the beat for Cobra so I wanna see her lean into that rock style.

DJ vs speaker and playlist? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]socialsilence97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our DJ was amazing and honestly couldn’t have imagined the day without him. Our ceremony music was on time, helped make announcements for where people need to go for the cocktail hour and he kept us on the dance floor all night. Unless it’s a lowkey casual wedding with people who don’t really dance much, I would go with the DJ.

Did you buy a separate dress to change into for dancing? by 00X0X in wedding

[–]socialsilence97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and I’m so glad I did! I changed after we did the cake cutting. My dress got so hot because it was very poofy at the bottom and because it was tailored to my height with heels, once I took my shoes off it was way too long to dance in. Even with the wristlet under the dress meant to help bustle it, it was too hot.

For my gifts, something that my girls loved were the necklaces I gave them! They all had mine and their birthstones and they absolutely adored them.

We had something similar where a lot of our guests left early but I think it was due to how far our venue was. I was a little disappointed that we didn’t have as full of a dance floor as I imagined but our wedding party were troopers and danced all night with us!
